Thank you for your replies. It will only happen on the first start when cold, if you stop and restart it won't happen. I am using fully synthetic. A genuine Lexus oil filter. Serviced regularly.

Hello everyone. I'm new on this site and here's my first question. My car is a IS300 2005 Sportcross. My problem is on a cold startup the engine revs to 2000rpm and rattles like big end rattles, only lasts for 2 to 3 seconds but sounds awful. Present milage is 84000 miles and regularly serviced.My partner has a IS200 157700 miles and does not rev up or rattle. Has anyone any ideas why it revs ? Presumably if it didn't rev it wouldn't rattle as the oil is allowed to circulate before revving.Hope to here from you. Many thanks.

Thank you for your response. The reason for upgrading is simply they are a much brighter bulb and can shine a lot farther, i have used these bulbs in the past in other cars without any problems what so ever but obviously with glass lenses. As for HID's i'd have to do a conversion, although not a problem they are a lot more expensive. The thing is my car is fitted with HID dip beam from standard which are brilliant but as soon as you flick on to main beam you get sub standard yellow light (why didn't Lexus fit HID's all round) such a let down.

Hello Lexus lovers, i would like to upgrade my standard high beam HB3 bulbs for 100w ones but i read they produce so much heat you can't use them with plastic lens's is this correct ? Many thanks James.

Hello everyone. I'm after a bit of advice and with all you lexus fans out there i'm sure you'll be able to help. I would like to lower my car by 2"- 3" inches as there is a ridicules amount of space between the tyre and wheel arch. At first i thought about cutting a coil from the spring but on doing some research i don't think its possible owing to there shape so have been looking at lowering springs, as usual i'm on a tight budget and have found a set of 4 springs from H&R for £250 has anyone tried these ? I don't see why some companies want a lot more to do the same job. Any advise would be most welcome. Thanks.

Hello again. The only thing that i'm aware of that was done was checking the engine management light which turned out to be an oxygen sensor which has been replaced and the engine management light went straight out.

Thanks Jim, the thing i didn't understand was that my ABS light was flashing when doing this procedure and that wasn't the warning light that was on. Both VSC lights went out on start up but the moment i went less than 2 feet they both came on. The car is up for sale so i would dearly like them off before someone views. Thanks.

Hello every one. I've read a few forums with great interest but this is the first time i have taken part in one. I have a GS430 2001. The engine management light came on, so got the code read and was told it was an oxygen sensor, shortly after the code was read the VSC lights came on, any way replaced the oxy sensor and the engine mangement light went out but not the VSC. Had verious quotes for reading the codes but no one's reader could read them. So found this site and bingo someone else with the same problem, got my short lengh of cable tried it out only to find the ABS light flashes not the VSC. I checked and double checked the connections to no avail just flashing ABS. Can someone please throw some light on this. Many thanks.James
