  1. Ha, I know. She had no coordination with the car at all apparently. Not exactly a hard car to drive though is it!
  2. Cheers mate. I bought the car from the person who imported it, his brother is a doctor out in japan so he helped him by viewing the car in japan and shipping it over. He imported 2 Altezza's at the same time, mine, and a silver one for his wife, but his wife didn't like driving the silver one and kept bashing into things like kerbs and small posts etc. So the guy I bought mine from decided to sell the White one as it was mint, worth more money, and would be easier to sell than the silver one, and then fixed up the silver one for himself, and he ended up buying his wife a micra! Haha.
  3. That is the one, and it's up for 7495, not 7995 ;)
  4. Cheers mate, no that's fair enough. The auto box is great though, best of both worlds in my opinion with the f1 shift on the steering wheel. I wanted a manual as well but when I saw the car that just didn't matter to me afterwards.
  5. Here's a link to it mate- ********* I didn't try the classified bit, only the cars for sale section.
  6. Cheers mate! Wish I had the money to keep it! :(
  7. Oh I see, cheers guys for clearing that up! Thanks for the comment as well kam05, :) I will be truely gutted to see it go, it's such an attention seeking car and by far the mintest car I've ever owned, it's like new!
  8. Hi guys, Can anyone tell me why I can't post my Altezza RS200 up for sale in the for sale section? I've read the T&C of the for sale section and it says nothing about any reason why I can't start a new thread, like needing x amounts of posts etc..... It's very frustrating because I really think someone on here would benefit from seeing my car if they are after an altezza as it really is a one off immaculate example, and I would really like it to go to another enthusiast. Cheers, Arron
  9. My car is an auto............ ;-) But that's fine mate, I haven't decided 100% yet what I'm doing but thought I'd give you first dibs, I can always put the car up for sale on here and on pistonheads, never had an issue selling a car on there.
  10. Did you email me mate? Haven't recieved anything??
  11. Hi Jim, Drop me a pm via my email address at arronstoddart@yahoo.co.uk with your mobile number and we can have a bit of a chat about my car if you'd still be interested in it. The mrs and I still haven't got round to sorting financies out but from working a few things out in my head I know deep down it would benefit us if I was to let my car go in place of a devils fuel diesel. :-(
  12. Yeah Waltham cross is only about 20 minutes round the m25 from me. Not too sure how far wickford is though.
  13. Haha! Well if I do have to sell it then you'll be the first to know mate, I'll give you first dibs. The mrs and I will be going through out finances by the weekend no doubt so I'll more than likely be making a decision then. It would be good to see it go to another enthusiast who is pretty local. Where abouts in Essex are you?
  14. Cheers mate, I had a vision in my head of how I wanted it to look and it's came out exactly that, so pretty pleased with it. I will be seriously gutted if I do have to sell it, just looking at those photos makes me like it even more! The second photo from the top is my fav.
  15. As promised, here are some pics my mate too on Saturday when we went to Wales. By the way that's my private plate on the car as well, not what it was registered with, it's a 99 T plate originally.
  16. Thanks for the comments guys. I will get a few pictures of the car up tonight of when a few of us went to Wales at the weekend, my mate jumped out and took a few good snaps of my car on some awesome welsh roads and countryside. I'm off work tomorrow and Friday and I am going to give the car a polish and wax, then I'll get some detailed pics of it. If it does come to selling it I don't think I'd be in a huge rush to get rid of it anyway, it's not something I want to be doing!
  17. Hi mate, I MAY regrettably have to sell my RS200 Z Edition due to a baby arriving in September and the fact of the matter is I need to make some cut backs, and one of them is fuel. I spend over £200 a month of fuel so I could do with getting a diesel. Harsh but that's reality for me. :-( I've got a Super White RS200 with a TRD front bumper, and aftermarket side skirts, rear bumper lip, and low level boot spoiler. It's lowered on Tein S Tech springs and I've just bought a set of black with polished lip Rota D1 staggered width alloys with Falken tyres which cost me just under £1100. I've also just had the side skirts and rear lip repaired and repainted due to small cracks here and there, and whilst it was in the bodyshop I had the roof, TRD grill, middle lower section of the front bumper, bootlid handle trim, and the rear Altezza badge all sprayed gloss black which cost me £500. The finished result looks absolutely awesome and turns heads massively! The car has only been in the country since march and was registered in April this year. I have every peice of import paperwork for it to prove this and the best bit of all is that it only had 1 owner from new in japan and has only covered 19,600 miles!! It was imported with 27,000 klms on the clock and had the speedo converted to mph at 28,500 klms, it's now showing 30,500 on the clock, but 2000 of those are in miles, so 28,500 klms converted to miles works out to 17,600. The condition of the car is reflected in the mileage as it really is very very close to immaculate. The engine bay looks like it has just rolled out of the factory, as does the under side of the car. It's basically ready to be shown off at shows which is exactly what I intended to do with it this year. It has a Kakimoto stainless steel cat back system, and apart from that the engine is standard. It is the auto tiptromic model and it all works brilliantly. It has a double din Headunit which has full uk and western Europe sat nav built it and that works absolutely spot on, and it also has in built screen in the back of the front headrests for rear passengers to watch DVDs. I have a 5 year already that loves this car purely for the fact that it has the screens in the back so that she can watch DVDs on a journey! As mentioned above, I am really testing the water on this as I really don't want to sell the car, I searched and searched to find an example like this so I would really love to keep hold of it, but if when it comes to working out our finances with the mrs it proves that I'm not going to be able to manage once she goes on maternity leave then I will have to bite the bullet and let it go. :-(
  18. That's great guys, cheers for that! The only bit I had trouble with was the door handle is, I couldn't see to free off the trim around it, - in the picture where the guy is prizing the door handle trim away from the door card itself. Does the tweeter housing have to come off as well then? It seemed like the door card could of been moved off around that.
  19. Hi all, I have an annoying loose connection on my drivers side front speaker on my Altezza. I tried to remove the door card the other day to have a look at it but I got so far and had to stop as I didn't want to break anything. I removed the two screws (one inside the door handle and the other inside the grab handle) pulled all the poppers around the edge of the door card, but couldn't seem to get the door card off around the door handle, I didn't want to force it. I'm sure it's really simple, and it's annoying as I've removed loads of different door panels on previous cars, but this one doesn't seem to want to shift. Could anyone point me in the right direction please? Cheers, Arron
  20. I had a look for wind deflectors and the only thing that came up was a wind deflector for an is2/300 sunroof, so I changed the search to is300 window visors and about 22 items came up, just incase anyone else is on the search for some! :)
  21. Excellent mate! Thanks very much for the info, much appreciated. I'll be keeping an eye on this thread, I think you've done a fantastic job, looks really nice, nice and subtle, yet it's obvious the car is packing a punch! ;-)
  22. Lovely car mate! You've done an awesome job of it, very impressive! Do you mind me asking a couple of questions please? I'm new to the world of Toyota / Lexus, just bought myself a fresh import Altezza RS200 and really want to do the jdm headlight mod you've done. There is a set of genuine jdm headlights on eBay at the moment but they are £299 + £92 postage from japan! Sod that! So I was pleased to see that you've done the mod yourself, and in fact, they look better than the real thing as you've got rid of the horrible Amber strip for the indicator! Do you have a how to guide? Or would you mind telling me exactly how you did it please? And the other thing I wanted to ask, is where you got your wind deflectors from? Are they genuine jdm ones? Thanks in advance, Arron
  23. I found this on the net last night, crazy yanks! 18x9.5" ET12!! I love the stance of it.
  24. That looks awesome mate! Thanks for that. It looks like your running the 8.5" on the fronts? What sort of trouble would it be to have the 9.5" all round? Also what tyre sizes would you recommend? Cheers, Arron
  25. Hi all, I'm new to the forum and new to Altezza ownership as ill be picking the car up on monday night! :) it's a fresh import in white, extremely low 29500 klms verified mileage with certificate, it has the TRD front bumper and aftermarket side skirts and rear lip, lowered on Tein springs, Kakimoto cat back, and jdm 2 peice split rim alloys in 18's. I love the look of the car but think the wheels really let it down, plus the rear tyres are barely legal, so I'm looking at getting some new wheels and tyres. I'm a really big fan of the Rota GTR alloys and would love to get them in white, and in the agressive size of 18x9.5" now I know that the width is about an inch more than is really advised, and that the offset is at least 15mm too low, but I was wondering if anyone has actually managed to get this size wheel on their Altezza / is200? And if so what work was needed to fit them? Was it all worth it? I think the wheels would look amazing on the car as I think they would compliment the agressive looks of the bodykit. Failing that, my only other wheel choice would be the Rota Force in an 18x8.5" ET48 set up, anyone running these on their Altezza / is200? Thanks in advance, Arron
