Dont ya mean...
Cars should be like women....Naked :D:D

For you guys that took yours off - did you use the kettle of boiled water + floss trick?
-
Yeah it's sitting a tad lower than I'd like, but the pics do make it look a lot worse than it really is.
I'm hoping that when I add a rear skirt it'll look better.

Intake installed :D
Did crap myself when I saw the check engine light, then realised I hadn't plugged in the airflow sensor. Plugged it in and crapped myself agian when the light was still on.
Pulled Battery for a few minutes - Sorted :D

Thanks :)
Sorry it's my first venture into a car engine (yeah go ahead...laugh), so just wanted to make sure I didn't kill anything :)

In which case the tube that K&N provide that goes from half way down the intake tube to the solenoid can be blocked off?
-
Ok so I'm sitting here with my IS300 in peices looking for an "evap solenoid" that my K&N FIPK intake says should be attached to the bottom of my airbox.
It's not.....
HELP!!!!

I prefer with.
Especially when it say's is300 :winky:
Yeah thats the only thing thats preventing me from whiping them straight off tbh. Even thought I'm not really a name snob, I'm not sure how I'd cope with the "hey, look we've got the same car" to the guy down the road that has a black IS200 :P
I just want to be able to polish underneath them to be honest :s

Cant believe there's a 50/50 split in votes...this is no help at all :P haha
-
Just toying with PS to see if i prefer with or without. I _think_ i prefer without, but I'm after some other feedback :)

Had a Capri re-sprayed a few years ago now and it cost just over £2500. That was with a full strip-down and a couple of replacement wings.
The finish was very good, but unfortunately the paint was quite hard and prone to stone chips.

i definitely wouldn't run it with the bung, it looks absolutely horrendous. if you buy a nice shiny loud system the last thing you wanna do is stick that up it!
Yeah I was leaning in that direction too tbh. I'm gonna take it out and see how it goes. At least in the IS300 I think it has extra soundproofing
-
Cheers matey. Question is...with bung or without bung...

Took the exhaust down to local mechanics today expecting them to say at the very least the mid box wouldn't fit, but much to my surprise it all went in nicely :D

Hi Guys,
I'm looking to get a new headlight washer cover for my Passenger side headlight. They sell them on japarts and I've tried contacting them to find out what colour it comes in or if its unpainted (i need black) but they haven't replied.
Does anyone have a reliable contact over there?
Cheers

Hi Guys,
I've just received my new exhaust in the post and am wondering how hard it would be to fit if I could get the car up on a set of those mini-ramp things?
I would take it to a garage but as I've no tax/insurance at the mo I'd rather not risk it.
Also bear in mind I'm used to fixing computers not cars so this would be my first time at getting greasy :P

DOn't think so. They will stay locked even in the event of a crash
EEk, so if I end up with an L imprinted in my forehead, the Mrs and kids aint gonna be able to get out of the car without someone pressing the tiny button the other side of my slumped body :s

hi there
the centre section on a is 300 from the cat back is longer
this pushes the back box and tail pipe pass the rear bumper
and can also the bend on the backbox can sometimes catch the body over the axle
with carefull adjustment it will be ok if you can live with the tail pipe sticking out past the bumper a little bit
hope this helps
all the best neil
Cheers for the info neil. It's put me in two minds now on whether I should buy an exhaust over the net or not :s
I've seen IS300 exhausts for sale in USA, but I've heard that the IS300 over there has a bigger rear bumper or something :/

Hi Guys,
I was just speaking to a friend of a friend yesterday who happens to be a copper, and while admiring my IS he mentioned that one of his mates got car-jacked for his IS200 a few months ago.
It got me thinking really. I'd like to lock all the doors from the inside when I take the family out anywhere, but does anybody know what would happen in a crash? Would my family be able to get out of the car if I'd locked all the doors using the button on the drivers door panel?

I just installed the USB version of the Grom in my 300 and I have to say that it was much much easier than I thought.
Its just a case of undoing 2 screws (for the dash tray), 4 bolts (for the stereo) and pulling a few plugs out. I even managed to secure my grom in a space behind the stereo and run the USB/Ipod cables into the glove box so it's completely stealthy :D

Cheers for all the nice comments guys. Further to my previous 9hr detail I have spent another 11hrs today doing the whole car again
I bought myself a 3M daylight gun of eBay so that I could see each and every swirl and scratch. Its now immaculate :duh:
-
Cheers dude, so would a cat-back system be OK, or is it literally just the very back box that's the same?
-
In another thread I was asking about IS300 exhausts and some of you guys said that IS200 exhausts would fit on a 300. However after contacting some exhaust companies they are saying otherwise.
Can anyone confirm for 100% that the mounting etc is exactly the same on the 300 as on the 200?
Cheers guys.
