I've never even see a GSF on the road & live close by to you in St Albans, although I did see a RCF heading up your way via the M10 last week on the Park street roundabout.

I was looking at tagging along in my poor mans GS'F sport but can't due to family stuff.

Work from home bud and don’t put miles on her often so no surprise. You’re welcome to pop by any time if you want a look see.

After organising this, I’m truly gutted I can’t make it.
I hope you all have a great time.
On the subject of Lexus HQ involvement, I’ve spoken to my local dealership and am going to contact Lexus HQ to see about organising a meet next year at their location. The dealership think it’s a good idea too.
Enjoy the meet this Saturday everyone. 👍😎

Where is this dealership for future ref?

Sure same as me, but wondering if you will go round M25 past heathrow or the other way over Dartford bridge? - if the latter I can wait for you to pass me at jct 4 (Orpington) or meet quick at Clackett Lane services (between jct 5 & 6)

I edited the post as I missed out that critical bit of info lol.  I'm going anti-clockwise, so nowhere near Dartford I'm afraid.

I have owned my RCF for nearly 2 years now and NEVER driven past/with another on the road!

Will be mad to see so many together, even if its only 15 haha

Friend of mine I am bringing cant wait to see a GSF in the flesh having never ever seen one lol

Same but with GSF of course - arguably the most F that have been in one place in the UK!

If we can get some good pictures, might even draw the attention of Lexus themselves 🙂

Hey everyone. I purchased a blue GS F three weeks ago and I absolutely love it.

I know reading through the threads there is a lot of posts on detailing however I wanted to get someone's opinion on keeping the blue looking good. On a blue 350z I owned a few years ago, I would wash it, iron remover, autoglym super resin polish, dodo juice purple haze wax finished finished off with Dodo Juice Red Mist Tropical.

Anyone got any thoughts on these products with the Lexus or any alternatives?

    Thanks in advance!

It’s just paint mate, no specific products required - use what you like.  Scratches are inflicted during the contact phase of any wash, so just take it easy.

You shouldn’t use polish every wash, polish once or twice a year as required as it’s abrasive.  I wash as normal (wheels first then paint - rinse, foam, rinse, foam and contact wash with two bucket method, rinse, dry) then just use a good wax or sealant every 3 months or so and then top with detailing spray to finish every wash.

I had mine professionally polished then had the front end ppf’d.  Still looks like glass as I’m careful.

Hey. Can I ask your thoughts on insuring a GS F. I am 34 years old, 12 years no claims, no accidents or points, parked on driveway overnight, 5k mileage over a course of the year, lowest cost on money supermarket from a reputable insurer is £1100 ( lowest cost overall is £850).

Anyone got any thoughts or suggestions?

    Thanks

I’m paying £450 via aplan Thatcham as it’s lightly modified.  Couple more years no claims and I’m 38.  The house I’m moving to though is pulling quotes in near double - so postcode plays a factor too.

The thing is GSF is a cult car with great potential to become a classic, if you think of it, the GSF is quite possibly is the last NA V8 saloon made and when the milk floats becomes a norm, V8 enthusiasts will be after these cars. Considering this there are people out there (like me, sadly not the colour for me) who will want to this.

Well, if you ignore the IS500 maybe…

I've seen a detailing video where they were peeling one of the early clear bras off a Porsche and talked about how careful they had to be as it had been on for a long time. Left adhesive residue all over the paint as well. I thought the modern "wraps" were designed to be easier to remove though, especially the higher quality ones.

That would be an AmmoNYC video - Larry is a legend.  They are easier, but all I'm saying is it's a risk - an expensive one as well.

Really? I didn't know it was a significant risk. I thought one of the big pros of a wrap compared to a respray was that it could be removed fairly easily if selling the car or if bits need redoing etc.

Yep, it's bonded with an adhesive so if they aren't super careful removing it then there is a risk.
