  1. Andy-that looks just the drop I'm looking for on my LS. I have been in contact with MeisterR (who has been very helpful) and hope to be able to buy a set from him soon (just had the expense of new lowered shocks for my VW T4 van, and also that of a Wilbers shock to replace the stock one on my Aprilia DD).

Did you fit them yourself or get them fitted? Were they difficult to do, bearing in mind I did my 4 VW shocks in an hour (no springs on the front), and the Aprilia about 10 minutes.

I've the DHP wheels which I like as they don't show much of the brakes, but then some do like exposing all that. Each to their own, but the drop looks great.

You wont be disappointed with the MeisterR coilovers :) I fitted them myself along with all new front lower suspension bushes and lower ball joints.

Not too difficult, you need too remove the rear seats and I would recommend unbolting the front lower ball joints from the hubs to ease access.

    Cheers,

    Andy

What sort of costs involved in getting it the same as ACLex beautiful LS400

    Hi Mike,

Jerrick @ MeisterR is doing the the coilovers for £669 and I believe he is doing an offer this month :) so if you want some now is a good time to buy :winky: .

As for the wheels, I was lucky enouugh to pick them up from eBay and had them refurbished by Pristine in standard silver B)

    Hi Andy,

    Many thanks.

  3. My LS used to be driven by Kerry Katona's personal chauffeur - hence the lingering smell of Iceland pizzas and party nibbles. (Joke)

Is that why "Mums go to Lexus!"

There was an LS on eBay a few years ago which was originally owned by Bill Gates.

I bet it had Windows and a nice Vista.

    Sorry :whistling:

But now it has Windows 7 or 7 windows including the sunroof!!!

I wonder if he was ever late for a meeting and told his driver to "Boot it"

    Lets hope it didnt crash.

  4. Hi all my ls has fallen foul and failed its MOT on the bushes of The rear upper control arms both sides. I have found that Cheap toyota parts are currently selling the arms at £170 each.

Ihave also found an American site on Ebay selling the bushes for said arms at Approx £41.00 a set. ( 2 sets per side) item no 180625409260, Autowearhouse is their name. Having spoken

to them via ask a question, a very quick response and also extremely helpful. Hope this is of some use, to other members. All the best, Allan.

Remember if your buying in from the USA there is import duty to pay on not just the parts but the P&P as well.

  5. off topic but RE: condensation from the exhausts , is a sign of a well running engine & fuel system. On an LS400 I'm thinking you just haven't driven it far enough to get the whole system hot for a while.

tl;dl , water in exhaust exits is 99.999% normal

also , since when has less square been good?.

I love the look of square cars. Granada coupe , cortina , alfa 33 & 75 , ls400 (i do think the mk3 looks better tbh).

there is no manual LS , a manual box would ruin the whole 'drive while doing hardly anything' experiance.

edit , I am biased - dont like "jelly mould" styling of new cars.

ever since the ford sierra cars have mostly looked like they popped out of a cooking utensil.

I'd have a hard job of telling an ls200 from a mk2 astra from 50 yrds.

Agreed. In my opinion the IS series is just not Lexus enough. They should've stuck with the top range cars! An IS would look more in place with a Toyota badge.

Now that just sounds a little snobby to me!. My Lexus hasnt got a badge, i took it to off. To me its a car not a status symbol. I also removed, what has now become the boy racer style Lexus chrome lights. As mentioned before i have driven everything from Reliant Robin to Bently Continental, from MK1 RS2000 escort to ferrari 355. A car is a car its a way to get about for me nothing more. To me the Lexus is a educated choice resonable style good comfort great reliablity resonable purchase price. Whats the LS got that the IS doesnt have?? cruise control?? cant think of anything else. Must admit mines had a few bits added that like full closure windows and mirrors, just press the lock button and everything closes and winds in. Its got touch screen tv dvd sat nav reverse camera. so i dont see the spec up grade as anything special really from the IS to the LS. The point of my post was to see if a v8 LS is a cheap to run as an IS afterall who wouldnt have a v8 instead of a straight 6.

Dont take the remarks as a personal attack upon you we all have a laugh and a joke and everything is said with tougne in cheek and on loads of occasions there is lots of good sound advice and help.

  6. Delighted to see this thread on here. I've just bought an LS430 and it's booked in to ProfesGas in South Wales on 5 Nov. Fitted in a day and only costs 1300 quid.... bargain!!

I've had LPG on both of my Scorpios for the past 7 years or so. Absolutely delighted with it and saw some real savings while enjoying no power loss. I fitted the systems myself and had them certified by an installer and never had any issues with insurance when I told them I'd converted the cars. You will find that some insurers on the comparison websites won't quote because they don't allow any modifications to the engine but there are enough who do that you can always get a competitive price.

Once the system is fitted, I'll come back and update you on my experience.

hi. I've heard both good and bad about those blokes. Ask if you get a flashlube kit fitted for your £1300

Perhaps you could do me a favor. when the job is done, nip under the car with your camera and take some detailed pictures of the job. I'd really like to see their finished product. Thanks.

    Snaps

I Will gladly pop some pics of my LS400 converted to lpg by Profess Gas tomorrow.

    Regards Mike

Will have to be tomorrow now, promise. Not enough hours in the day.

Here we go as promised Well I am stopped in my tracks as I dont seem to be able to upload pictures to the site.

    What a shame.

  9. I expected fuel consumption but not this much. I have a Mercedes S320CDI which has nearly 200k miles of which I have done 120k.. I love the drive on the LS430 and may convert it if I get a reputable installer. I bought the LS430 ever since it came out but had my IS200. I bought the S320 and loved driving it. My brother bought his GS430 sport and I drove it. After that drive I had to buy the LS430 and here I am 2 months down the road. My brother now wants to sell his GS430 Sport and buy an LS430.

LPG or no LPG I am driving this car no matter what the cost.

Dont be put off by what this guy has said.

I dont know of anyone who has had a problem with any car that has been converted by Profess.

I know of one guy who had his Merc concerted and because of a problem they had with an installation engineer falling ill meant they couldnt finish his car so they booked him into a nice hotel for the night which they paid for and still with his free car, they finished at noon and dispite the elongated installation time he was very happy.

I am paying 54p a litre at the moment and theres a big smile on my face everytime I fill up.

  10. Hi Ifty

Try these http://www.professautogas.co.uk/index.html they did my LS400 and couldnt be happier.

I have run LPG cars for the last 14 years and only once was I let down when a Solinoid decided to retire cost to replace £40.

These guys are amazing I didnt belive they could do the job in a day but they did.

They also lent me a car with a full tank of LPG free to enjoy the sites of South Wales for the day.

I am not a friend or a relative of them but do believe in giving people a pat on the back when its deserved.

    Good luck Mike
