  1. Your knowledge is awesome Parthiban B) Just to confirm; here are some shots from the original ad (all I have at the mo) Front... Side... Back... Cheers! edit: hmmm, hope you've got a magnifying glass ;)
  2. Hi all, I've been trying to find out info on the Aero2 pack but with little success. I purchased a 2001 Sport advertised as having the Aero2 pack - it certainly looks the part but has a TRD badge on the grill, and a TTE badge on the boot lip spoiler. Would this be factory fitted as it strikes me as being aftermarket. I need to make sure my insurance details are spot-on if nothing else as I don't want to get shafted by them should the worst happen! Any info/links etc. gratefully received :)
  3. Always worth checking the nut on the shock absorber mount in the engine bay. I had a knock coming from an old avensis and couldn't see anything wrong for ages, took it to a local garage and they didn't know either. My dad had a look, quick quarter-turn with a torque-spanner and the knock was gone. Clever/dumb balance restored Edit: Durr, just noticed you said 'Rear'....sure the same applies though. (clever/dumb balance not so restored after all).
  4. I had an iTrip for ages but got fed up of radio hiss and retuning if I drove from one side of the city to the other... I've got a tape-thingy now and it works fine, though I'm not mad keen on the wire sticking out of the cassette slot. Cheap as chips though so you can't go wrong really :)
  5. There's a couple of shabby looking examples near me - one standard and one 'modded'... both make mine look all the more better though :D
  6. Got her back an am very happy with the result - can't see any scratch! The true test will be in the bright sunlight of course, but quite chuffed with the result. If anyone in the Bristol area is interested I had it done by Don Williams in Southville :)
  7. Grumble - literally got the last of the bits needed to replace my missing master key today! Guess I'll have to keep it old-school (but original :) ) On a side note, I was in my local Sainsburys (Winterstoke Road, Bristol) yesterday and asked how much they'd charge to cut the blank. They said that they actually charge for the blank rather than the work itself, so it would be free as I was supplying my own key. However, there work would not be guaranteed. Free is free is free mind, so might be worth a punt at yours!
  8. £170 and she can be done next week - i'll have that. Good job my copper jar is actually a demijohn, is nearly full and has 10's and 20's in it too... reckon I'll only need £30 extra! :D
  9. :D Awesome idea... I just resorted to taking everything off and leaving a master key with clubcard/nectar card key fobs... end result is the same but it's not the most impressive looking set of keys in the world! :D
  10. Thanks for the welcome amd sympathetic words :) Rage has now turned to irritated resgignation that I'm going to have to shell out the bucks to get it fixed. Oh well, she'll soon be looking good again. Cracking site btw, I've already used the 'what faults to look for' and 'key reprogramming' guides - good job I've entered a few Playstation cheats in my day, made the reprogramming a bit easier ;)
  11. Hi all, I was hoping my first post would be something light hearted along the lines of how happy I am to now have my IS200 (which I am), but this little rant is about some brainless idiot that thought it would be a good idea to key it yesterday afternoon! I've never had a car keyed before, and never liked one enough to bother about cosmetic repairs - looks like the costs of running her have started already! Are any members local to Bristol that could recommend a good spray shop? It's only 15" or so but stands out a mile as the bodywork is in such good nick... Rage
