  1. Recently signed up for the Esential Service plan and have cashed in my free Inspection voucher - has anyone ever had one done and know what it involves? I know they do a 29 point visual check, I just wondered what sort of stuff they looked at... does it include the belts? They're giving her a free wash / vac as well so that's a weekend job for me ticked off the list already! :D
  2. Walk it and your MPG's will shoot right up! :P I get about 25 on an even mix of town and motorway. I would say that the lack of low-end poke is probably the only downside to owning an IS200, but they are fantastic cars, and I'm chuffed to bits with mine!
  3. So a limited edition in all but name then... :winky: It had the styling kit and Aero alloys so i guess it was the special edition. If there's only 50 about that's not a bad spot I reckon!
  4. Went to the car wash this morning in Bedminster, Bristol, and the car being prepped in front of me was what I think was an LE on an '03 plate. If that was yours, then very nice car bud! I took a not-too-small amount of nerdy satisfaction from seeing the two of them queued up together B)
  5. Guilty as charged here. SHE is called Lana (I was caning the Smallville boxsets when I got HER and Lana Lang had become Lana Luthor. Lana Luthor/LexLuthor/Lexus...I'm sure you get it). She totally looks like a Lana :P It's something left from when we were kids, we always gave my dad's cars names. His old Sierra was probably the best... Betty (Ford).
  6. I flew from Bristol to Edinburgh to get mine - probably the only time I haven't grumbled about a seven-hour car journey. Enjoy the drive!
  7. I'm a while away from needing it yet, so if you beat me to it be sure to report back with your verdict! :)
  8. This caught me out too, thought my button was broken until I read the manual and realised you had to press and hold! If both keys are doing it though then maybe it's a problem with the signal being sent to the locking mechanism. I'd be clueless on how to sort that out though - sorry!
  9. Cheers Motty, Sorely tempted to go for one when the time comes :)
  10. Oh dear... I'm alright (2001), hope all goes well for those affected! http://www.fleetnews.co.uk/news/2010/10/21/lexus-announces-uk-recall/38002/
  11. There's a good guide on here if you search for it, I used it and found it very helpful. I will stress make sure it's got two master keys!
  12. Ormi - Does your Mrs have any single police friends?! :D: (of the female persuasion naturally) Not that I would ever be so shallow as to hook up with someone to save myself a couple of hundred quid on car insurance...
  13. I think it's definately going to be worth phoning them up to make sure they undestand that it's all factory fitted. Failing that I have 14 days to cancel the policy so this weekend will be one of joyous insurance shopping!
  14. The one that cancelled my cover was 1st Central, the one I'm with now (where the quote went up steadily as I explained about the kit) is eSure. I thought that as it was a factory-fitted option it shouldn't make that much difference, as the car is as it left the showroom (ish :winky: ). Starting to think I may have been a bit hasty, is anyone out there with the styling kit from new (or not I guess) that could recommend an insurance company? It would be good to talk to a company that knows what the hell I'm talking about when I mention the styling kit, and doesn't charge me the earth for it!
  15. So after finding out all the info on the styling kit I called my insurance company to make sure everything was cool on my policy, only to find out that everything was most certainly not cool. After explaining about the kit and being put on hold I was then asked if it was to do with hands-free! No, it's a body kit. explained again, put on hold again. :duh: This time they came back and said that they couldn't insure my car with the kit and were cancelling my policy with immediate affect! Couldn't believe it - i was left stranded at work with no cover and I'd effectively been driving around with no insurance for the past month!! :tsktsk: Have found cover now, but what a headache. Good job I love the car so much :D
  16. Cracking motors both... I've had to ask a chum (photographer) if they've ever photographed cars before, my iPhone camera doesn't do her justice ... just got to plan for a sunny day! :)
  17. Spot on with the guess Parthiban. I just saw the pic you posted, and I have the Sport badge on the front spoiler too. Thanks for all the help B)
  18. Afraid I can't see the pic you posted as my work blocks access to such evil things... However, I know for certain that it's a Sport. All databases I've come across have it registered as such. And I have a two-tone steering wheel, as well as tinted glass with the Sport decal :) Rory - yes, there's a third brake light in the rear window...
  19. There's nothing in the history about it so I can't honestly say. This is where I was getting confused as I would have thought it would be TTE or TRD, but I have both badges... Still, I much prefer the TTE lip to the Sport spoiler so that's something!
  20. Hi Parthiban, I must get some proper pics But yes, it's the TTE lip spoiler, just like yours. Thanks for the info, it's nice to finally know for certain!
