  1. This thread put a downer on my plans to change the stock unit to a nice Alpine. Does anyone else get a slight rattle from the standard cd mech as you corner? I do, quite annoying, not put any cds into it yet.
  2. I called Eibach today, seems their springs are discontinued for the IS200/300 :( Others I looked at are H&R and Tanabe but they are both very expensive, £250. I don't know what to do now.
  3. Apex is not a brand I would go for to be honest and 50mm would be too low for me, I'd worry about the stock shocks too and ruining the ride. The Eibachs will firm it up slightly without altering the ride comfort. 35mm would be about the max I'd go on stock shocks as claimed by tein but reviews said they are very soft and sag badly. I'm going to give Eibach a call on Monday and check the price. If I already have sport suspension my drop will only be 15 mm right?
  4. Hi guys, I want to lower it but how do I know if I already have the lower sports suspension? It's a 2004 IS300 on 18" wheels, I measured the gap between the top of the tyre and the wheel arch. Front 40 - 60 mm (Dont think my drive is level) Rear 50 mm I'm thinking about Eibach springs having had them on 2 previous cars I love them, they quote a 30 mm drop, will I see this much? I did look at Tein but was put off by reviews. Any help would be great, thanks.
  5. I dont think IS200 springs will fit a sportcross, the Eibach part number is different at least, I was looking at the catalogue earlier.
  6. Just to update. I got a HKS Silent Hi Power and fitted it today. Only drove it up the road but it seems pretty good, close to stock but with a bit more rumble. Looking forward to the drive to work tomorrow.
  7. Jim did you sort yours? I'm wandering if its worth me getting one. Which one did you get steve and how much was it? I'm looking at one for £80 on ebay from epracing.
  8. I finally got round to looking at this. It's the front sensor that has corroded away, I'm an electronic engineer but sadly it can't be saved. I'll get hunting for a replacement. Any one got a part number? Thanks
  9. Here we go, just detailed it though the pics don't really show the full effect. More here http://s241.photobucket.com/albums/f...plosion/IS300/
  10. I listened to a few clips and the Blue Flame sounds loud. Custom is a no go, the local places suck. I fancy a HKS Silent Hi Power but I think they might be expensive. Is it a stock exhaust you have? Cat back? Whats the condition like? Thanks
  11. Sure I read here they were a bit different. My car does have the Aero pack. Any recommendations on an exhaust to go for or suppliers to try? Thanks
  12. Cheers mate I might well look into them, price is about right, I'd like to pay less but think it's risky to go below £70 a tyre for something like the IS200. Nick - which Goodyears and what sort of price are they? Goodyear Eagle F1 Assymetric in 225/40/18 at £105 each from mytyres.
  13. Hi guys. I think my IS300 may have a IS200 exhaust at the moment, it sits well in. It's also very rusty so should be changed anyway. Where should I get one from? I was looking at after market ones like HKS but they are £££ and I'm worried about making it loud. I don't mind a bit of noise at the right time but I'd prefer the silence I have now on the motorway. So what should I do? I imagine Lexus prices are going to be big for the stock one too. Thanks
  14. I'm really happy with my Goodyears so far, hope they last well. So much less noise than the rubbish that was on it before, it feels like a different car.
  15. Thanks guys, I'll check the sensors over the weekend to see if they can be saved, if not I'll search breakers.
  16. Bummer, sounds expensive. I'll do a code read at the weekend and see what it says. Thanks guys.
  17. This light came on as I was coming home from work today. I don't have an owners manual to check what it means (where can I get one?). What does this light mean and how would I go about fixing it? Thanks
  18. You could go for newer Vreds? Personally I would keep matching tyres on each axel. I'm getting a full set of Goodyear Eagle F1 Assy this week, had them on another car and they were great.
  19. Hi guys, My IS300 has the 18" optional wheels, it currently has some really cheap rubbish tyres on so I'm looking to replace all 4. I have a few questions. Current tyre size is 225/40/18 - I read this is correct. What should the stock load index be? Does it need XL tyres? What tyre would have been fitted from the factory? I want new tyres that grip quite well but are also quiet and will last a while. I'm looking at Goodyear F1 Assy Bridgestone RE050 Conti CS3 Michelin Pilot Sport 3 Any other suggestions? Thanks in advance.
  20. Hi guys, knew about this forum for a while but just signed up as I bought my first Lexus yesterday. I'm now the proud owner of an IS300 saloon. Spent the morning removing the Nokia handsfree kit as I have no use for it and I also detailed the interior. Hopefully next weekend I'll detail the outside then maybe post some pics here if people want to see. I need to sort out a second key as my car only came with one, I read I can get a blank and program it myself, is that right? Where can I get a blank with a transponder? Saw blanks on ebay for £5 but no transponder inside. Any help would be great. Hope to get to know some of you. Nick
