  1. Occasionally the button over the number plate will not operate the electric boot lock, if I then try and operate the electric tailgate from the key fob, it seems the motor is trying to lift, but the latch hasn't released. Thumping the tailgate eventfully seems to get it working, so I am presuming bad connection. Does any one have a link for a wiring diagram for the tailgate area, also there are three rubber tubes taking wire from the body to the tailgate, any idea which of these would carry my weak link. Thank you.
  2. I had my RX300 converted about a year ago, best decision I ever made. I suppose it depends a lot on the type of system you have installed, but I have only noticed a couple of mpg less on gas, and hardly any performance loss. We do about 15,000 miles a year, so hope to have recouped our money before long, plus have the added value of a car with a conversion. Each year we take the caravan to France for a month, where GPL as they call it is ready available at about the same price as here (70ppl), petrol in France was more expensive than here last summer. The only downsides are £50 a year to have the system serviced, £100 per year for flash lube, and we can't use the channel tunnel. But the smile on our faces when we fill the tank up for £38
  3. Well I've taken the plunge and part chopped the old faithful BMW for my very first Lexus, a 2001 RX300, what a beautiful car. However it does have some 'issues', but I'm always keen to get my hands dirty, and so far have removed and welded the rear exhaust box pipe back to the flange (should last, plenty of metal left, fracture crack at original weld) I've also had the VRC and engine lights come on, but have not got a code reader yet, but suspect as there is a leak at the flange by the cat, this is upsetting it, its next on the list! I do realise that some things will require specialist equipment and knowlage beyond me, so my question is can anybody recommend a good Lexus specialist garage in the Birmingham/Walsall area? I know there are good reports from some of the main dealers, but as usual money is also an 'issue'. Anyway, any suggestions appreciated, looking forward to reducing 'the list' of jobs, and many happy miles, thanks, Ian
