Until I get another Lexus in the future (which I inevitably will - as I can't keep away), I've now listed what I honestly think is an outstanding example of the upgraded LS430 (2004) on EBay. Here is the link as I know a few people were previously interested: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200970792254 Happy to answer any questions you may have. Available for viewing in Rainham, Essex, close to the A13 and six miles from M25. Do you like the pictures?

Its time for me to sell my beloved 2004 (54 plate) LS430 which I have really tried to look after. I need some help and guidance as to where would be the best place to sell (EBay/Autotrader) and also how much I should sell it for? So here's what you get: Navy blue with cream leather - absolutely pristine condition 120k miles with full Lexus or Lexus specialist service history Air suspension struts replaced Cambelt/water pump replaced IPod Interface added (replacing CD player) 2011 Satnav DVD's installed which includes Post Code finder Car is currently running on a set of Nokian winter tyres (spare unused) Recharged air-con (May) Sale will include a set of Falken summer tyres that have only done 6,000 miles (spare unused) This car includes the premium package with the breath taking Mark Levinson sound system which is great with the IPod and all the other toys you can possibly think of, all of which work perfectly. The alloys could use some attention, but besides that I reckon this is one of the best examples of that model year on the road at the moment and a fair bit of money has been spent to keep it in tip top condition. So where should I advertise and how much should I be asking? Thanks.

Am I Weird?

Thanks Mike. Great to have a sanity check from someone who is obviously as sensible as me! Regards, Tony. -
I've just been offered by my employer a brand new BMW 320 Efficiency Dynamics with all the extras and I've turned down because I just love my LS430 too much. Is this normal or rational behaviour? I love getting in my Lexus. I love powering up that Mark Levinson stereo, plugging in my IPOD and cocoon myself in total luxury and peerless refinement. I honestly don't think I will ever be able to own a different model of car. Am i weird?

I've been using some Nokian winter tyres on my 2004 LS430 which have performed really well. Now that Spring is in the air, I thought it might be sensible to change them to "normal" tyres and store the Nokians until next winter rather than keeping them on the car and just wearing them out. So with that in mind, can I have some recommendations for tyres that will be good for me for the summer months please? The tyre size is 245/45 R18. (I guess I can increase the R rating if needed). Anyway, any suggestions/advice would be appreciated. Regards, Tony.

Hello, I'm not sure I can help you fully but I have the 2004 LS430 with the Levinson sound system. The Sat Nav includes phone/bluetooth options on my model and it works fine - I really don't know if you have the same version. I had an Ipod connector installed a few months ago which meant having to disconnect the CD player but that was an easy choice for me. I don't recall the make/manufacturer of the connector but if you trawl the forums on here you will find a few threads about adaptors that work for Lexus. It takes a bit of getting used to and its a bit clunky but I have to say the Mark Levinson stereo with an Ipod is truly wonderful. I don't know if there are any adaptors that have a dual connector allowing for both a USB or an Ipod but I'm fairly certain you won't be able to have two separate adaptors. Anyway, I hope that helps (at least a bit). Regards, Tony.

I love my LS430 - but I did have the air suspension problem and two rear adjustable shocks cost me £800 plus VAT (and that was a trade price!). That said, I think that was just a bit of bad luck - but as I say, I totally love the car and wouldn't swap it! Perhaps good advice would be to make sure that the warranty being offered by Lexus includes suspension issues too. Enjoy!

Ouch, nasty. Please accept my sympathies. Cant answer the question but what I can say is definately have parking sensors fitted; absolute godsend. The best time to have them fitted is when the bumber needs repainting as this will. I'm totally ashamed to admit that I have parking sensors and the radio was a bit too loud for me to hear them. Pathetic eh?

In a moment of absolute idiocy yesterday, I managed to reverse the offside rear corner of my beautiful LS 430 into a bollard. After I'd finished crying I realised that I don't know of any good car body repairers in North East London or Essex that could do a good job for me without it costing the earth. I'm not putting this through insurance so I need to finance the job myself - so looking for good value as well as good quality. Anyone got any suggestions?

Hello, I was wondering how you were getting on in your search for sensibly priced shock absorbers? I've got a 430 on a 54 plate with only 84000 miles on the clock and have been told I've got "two leaking" front shock absorbers that will cost £1600 to supply and install at my local Lexus dealer. Complete madness! Please let me know if you've had any success. Regards, Tony.

Hello, There's quite alot on the forums about the various bits of equipment for sale that would allow me to use my Ipod in my 04 Lexus LS430. I'm not technically minded and would need some guidance as what works best, who could intall for a sensible price in the London area and what are the potential problems? So here are my questions: I've read that sound quality can be patchy with certain bits of kit? Any views on that? Do I lose the use of the CD changer? Do Lexus supply any OEM interface? There's loads of information of the forums but I need someone to distill it for me into simpleton language that even a Luddite like me will understand. Thanks.

Hello, I've just acquired a rather beautiful LS 430 on a 54 plate (pics to follow). I'm applying for a new tax disc but I can't work out the duty to be paid. According to the SMMT website as emissions exceed 255 g/km its £435.00 but the Registration Document has a figure of 0.190 against the CO Exhaust Emission. Can anyone interpret that for me and also let me know the correct duty to pay please? Regards, Tony.
