  1. Hi all,

Just wondering if people with lowered cars have had this problem, on some of the poorer road surfaces I get a knocking noise from the top Camber arms hitting on the inside of the arches, I have looked and this is what the noise is because there are marks on the metal.

What have people done/what would people recomend? Do I need to increase the pre-load on the springs? Get harder springs?

Info: BC Racing coilovers with pillowball top mounts, standard wheels/tyres.

    Thanks David

  2. Evening all,

I’ve just got back from having my car aligned and basically they haven’t done it.

Now to be fair to them the car is very low but they said there wasn’t enough adjustment to get the car to the correct settings so I just told them to get it as close as possible.

What do I need to correct the geometry? I’ve seen these for the front:

Is there anything else i can get to correct the geometry? What have other people done?

    Thanks in advance!

  3. hi all,

was in the process of changing my discs and pads when i got to the front passenger side and removed wheel, removed caliper from carrier and found the rubber seals were a different shape to the drivers side. so i did what all good engineers do and i proded one of the seals with my finger and for my trouble i got a face full of brake fluid!

needless to say i went and rinsed my eyes and returned to the job!

ive since drained both seals of fluid and the caliper seems to be functioning properly no pulling under braking, no loss of pedal feel etc.

any ideas what the problem is/was?

have a look at the picture below, seal on the left is part drain seal on right is full.

  4. Fitting better anti roll bars might help, but it’s an expensive way to fix a problem you shouldn’t be having in the first place!

Definitely go back to the site that sold you the wheels and try to get your money back or correct offset wheels.

  5. i was about to buy my lexus and i thought id check the difference in insurance before i bought it.

    1998 Vw Polo 6N 1.4 8v £1450 P/a fully comp

    2000 Lexus IS200 2.0 24v £1100 P/a fully comp

that absoultly made my mind up! i wasnt going to pay 1500 for a ****ty polo if i could insure a lexus for 1100!!

but tbf that £350 has gone straight in the tank! i cant get enough of the VVTi!

  6. hello again lads!

Ive changed the gearbox oil and i used a transmission fix(http://www.lucasoil.co.uk/products.php?page=products&subpage=product&product=27)

and then topped up with the recommended oil

only problem is that this morning when i went to drive the car this morning it was very difficult to put the car into second but once the gearbox had warmed up everything seemed fine!

any ideas? have i put too much additive in? the stuff was VERY thick so im guessing ive put too much in?

any help/advice would be greatly appreciated!

    David
