Mine has gone the same way, is it a design fault???? it's my drivers mirror that only goes up and down intermitantly but no problem with side to side, Lexus has quoted £350 as its out of warranty. How do i get into the mirror, i.e. take the glass off???

Hello, just joined so I have a question, I've just bought a 2006 IS 220D, I LOVE IT! it's a 'sport' model and has everything including satnav and parking sensors etc etc, i've checked eveything works and with the exception of the drivers door mirror it does, the problem is intermitant sometimes it doesn't move up or down but yet always will move side to side, i'm assuming it's a loose connection? anyone any ideas? how do i remove the glass to get to the wiring? i went to my local Lexus dealer but they said i'd need a new mirror at £350!
