  1. I would like to start earlier the better for me.... it just when can you accomodate as obviously I'm asking if you can do it. :)

I can't get any of the panels as these cars are getting rare and I'm pretty sure parts cant be ordered from toyota either, so would need forming? just thinking that the rear panel may not need complete cutting and binning but may need some of the supports welded back on (again your judgement!)

I know you don't know how long things can take without looking at the exent of the damage but take pic 4 (boot lid lock area) how long do you think this would take? I'm onlythinking about if I were to leave the car with you or to make various trips back an forth?? depending on if you had time and space etc

also i'd be paying you some cash obviously :)

    Thanks again!!

  2. Mat,

Decided to start up this thread to talk about your hidden talents (not the one about what you can do with a frankfurter :winky: ) but the art of welding

I bought the oldrolla from Paz and the car is pretty structurely sound and drives ok for a 1.3 carby and...... have some plans about pimpin round wroughton in this sh!tter

but to make it look presentable I wanted to sort out the bodywork as at the moment it's bumperless and needs a front sidelight and rear side glass.

Its pretty solid and I'll get some pics of the car but there are areas of rust and air that should have metal.

Here are the areas - not my cars and no where near as severe but just to get an idea of where I'm talking about

I've been told the areas to look out for are

    1. Boot Lip

    2. Quarter panels

    3. Bottom of doors

    4. Wheel arches

    5. Roof areas

    6. Around Front and Rear Windows

boot lip for sho......deffo rear pocket/quarter panel....arches are solid some rust but sanding back and paint job would be ok.... some small bit on the floor pan as the car is stripped.

Now some pics of the car from previous owner

    not those kickass rims tho!!

Basically I need to get some pics up of the extent of the damage but I deffo know I want a new rear panel (sits behind rear bumper/below the bumper) I will have a new chrome one coming - and that bit of metal is shot and looks *****... the boot lip needs some metal there as the return where the seal sits along is also getting eaten away... and some small hole in floor pan.

So let me know your thoughts and I'll try to get some pics of the bits soon

    cheers mat

    :wub::wub::wub:

    :)

  3. ok I'll start a new topic in loc

I think throttle bodies sound the nuts and are probalby the more expensive bang per buck compared to turbo or supercharger.

I think it depends on how deep your pocket is......how long you want to keep it and how far you want to go.

after reading up on some of the comments on here I'd be inclined to go for turbo..... finsih off with all the bits youve done so far and get them on and save for an a'pexi turbo or similar in the mean time......

  4. im brilliant at MIG welding

    Serious?

my ke70 is looking well ***** :crybaby: the car needs some some new metal in the rear pockets... some on floor pan and boot.... and could really do with a new rear panel (panel behind and below the rear bumper) but the car is rare as rocking horse cack and can't really find a replacement to cut and shut - do you reckon we could replace with some sheet metal with holes cut out where needed for a decent bodge?

  5. nice work there Robin!

Looks like you have a decent plan there from Mat and I'm sure there are plenty of people willing to spend your 1k every 3 months

off topic but Mat what trd parts can you get? any older bits and bobs?

pretty much anything...........but only from TRD Japan, and normally only the Race stuff

That's very nice to know car wise not pocket wise ;) So we looking at trd bits or the older tosco or technocraft stuff? Looking at possible bits for my 4k

on another side note any good at welding? or shall i get a welder for xmas?

  7. well i tried to cover mine up with lenses :P

I was looking for that damned gif I saw taken from fast and furious where the bloke in a lorry shoots the tail lenses of a riced up civic with altezza lights (:P)......... and it says I hate altezza lights! lol

    anyway saw this

    img059.gif

quite a nice wing wangan style/ducktail style (could do with being bigger tho)........... would suit a drift car...... Thom's or Mat's :winky:

  8. ***! that car is sooo nice and it would be a shame to let it go after the long hard time you've had with it.

I really hope you do get it registered and on the road - I'm sure everyone here will do what they can to help.

Hopefully Mat will come out trumps with the Toyota dudes.

Good luck and do update us :)

  9. arospeed rs-gt lookalikes??
