  1. Ok, I did compare those lights and yes they are LHD. Remember those two circles in the lights? well they are aligned differently in LHd or RHD lights. Also numbers in the lights are slightly different, so I am really happy I got this sorted. Thanks to this forum:) Now the coolant change is ok as well, so my process is going forward. For winter tyres I will buy them in Finland. I am going to buy non-studded nordic spec winter tyres and I can use them in the summertime as well. Ok they are not the best for summer, but ok anyway and that way I do not have to buy another set of wheels. Also: Do you know about the parking lights, since one of them is off, but I am not sure is there extra parking light or how they have been done. Lights are bit more complicated since they are HID format.
  2. Hi, I have collected the lights today from Belfast, but how do I know they actually are LHD. Serial Code matches to lights and they have a right form, but is there any identification to make sure they really are LHD. Thanks
  3. Ok, I have started now. I bought a 10mm hex key for the throttle body connection and 6 litres of coolant and 5 litres of deionized water. Then I opened the radiator valve and poured the coolant away, filled up the expansion tank and bleed the system. Repeat of this 3 times, then I started to flush the car directly, so left the radiator valve open, run the car 5 minutes at time with constant water flow to expansion tank. Eventually water was clear, when I started it was dark blue, black even. Then I added the deionized water, bleed the system, emptied the radioator and poured coolant trough throttle body valve. Now it is quite good, but since I have only poured about 2½ litres of coolant in the system, there is too much water, so I will wait the car to cool down, open the radiator valve, empy the radiator, fill up trough throttle body valve and then bleed the car again. Takes forever but I think the result will be good :)
  4. Thanks for the reply, I definitely do not want to take risks with this, and info about silicates is good to know. Of course I have no way of knowing if the current coolant consist of these or not. I have to see if I can find the Toyota coolant, but I think it is only sold in Toyota dealers.
  5. I have a blue coolant in my ls400 at the moment. Since I think it would be safer to keep the blue one and not to change to red one to make sure that I do not mix them and car is working fine anyway, I was thinking to continue with blue coolant. But I need to change it to stronger version, since I think I will take the car to Northern Finland where it might be -40 in the winter. Do you think this would be suitable for the car: Halfords So if the coolant amount is 11litres, 6 litres of that stuff and rest distilled water. Would this be ok for the car? The car is ls400, year 1998. Thanks
  6. Works now, I connected the bleeding bottle to Brake Actuator, opened the valve and pushed the pedal couple of times. Then I put a rock in the brake pedal, and opened master cylinder valve. This with engine running and now the brakes are fine. thank you for advice.
  7. Hi, car is just like this, except when engine is started the pedal seems too soft. There has not been any leaks in 2 months time, so for me it is hard to belive that there would be a leak in the system. The brake fluid has stayed in same level for past two months and maybe 1,5k miles. But of course your idea about clamping the hose is good one, easy to test as well. The system has not been pressure bleed, only manually. Question: Do I have to pressure bleed the Brake Actuator or can I just bleed it manually? And thanks for advice.
  8. Hi, when stopped in traffic lights in Drive, and the pedal is pressed hard, it goes to floor. If if hit the pedal down fast, car stops well and I think abs is working, no errors and only slight front wheel lockup, but nothing like it would be with ordinary brakes. VDC works as well. I think since the revs of the engine drops slightly when in D and hitting the brakes, this mighth point to vacuum leak? Cheers,
  9. Hi, how are you all, just wondering, my Ls400 has a soft brake pedal when engine is running. When the car is in P, the pedal is soft, when in D, then it is soft but when pressed it starts to raise from the floor, also revs drop slightly when running in d and the pedal is pressed. Brakes work fine, there are no leaks and system has been rebleed 2 times. It is only that pedal is bit too soft that it should be. Thanks.
  10. Yep it is a shame alright, if they would fit I might buy them, but sadly the lights are different. But at least, when compared to 95 model 98 has more power :)
  11. Thanks Andy, the price seems quite reasonable, how I could order those to Ireland then, Or maybe I should drive to Belfast to collect them, cheers, Ilkka
  12. Hi, how are you all, hope you are fine. I am a happy owner of Ls400, year 1998. Now I would like to take the car with me to Finland, but I would need to change the lights to LHD version, since the car is RHD. Do you have any info where to find the lights for this car? Year 1998, HID lights for Ls400. Thanks,
