  1. Good idea, just thrown an innertube in the bin ggrrrrr, I will save my next one and give it a try to be on the safe side, the feet however are rubber so should in themselves be ok.
  2. I always ensure I wipe the surfaces first do hopefully it will be ok 👍
  3. is200 Newbie, picture 4 u, like I say an excellent bit of kit and keeps your prize possession fixed to your rear like glue 👍

  6. Hi guys, I am due a major service on my 2008 220 and was looking at the essential care service however I am in two minds if to have it done at Lexus or because of its age to just get it done at a local garage. Any views ??
  7. I find I get interference if I have my phone on charge at the same time, is yours on charge ? If so take it off charge and try it.
  8. Hi everyone, I have tried searching for a thread on this but cannot find anything. I would like to put a USB connector into my car to play music from a flash drive however I beleive that the stock USB connector did not come as standard until 2009 !!! Can anyone advise me if they have done this, what kit they used, how easy was it to do and a rough cost. I would like a kit that I can use through the steering wheel functions so I can skip tracks etc. Thanks in advance Paul
  9. Thanks BB1000, can you confirm whichnLexus centre you used ? Thanks Paul
  10. Morning all, I need an intermediate service on my 2008 IS220 55k and also need a fuel filter (apparently) I am looking at the fixed price minor service for £159 (compared to the standard intermediate service quoted at £250) has anyone had one of these done, will it invalidate my extended warranty and do you get a stamp in the book ? Many thanks Paul
  11. Hi, one thing worth checking is on the door panel where you adjust the mirror ensure the L/R switch is not in the middle, press it down on L or R and give that a try (not the easiest thing to word but hopefully u get my drift!!!) Paul
  12. Evening all, I was driving home today and felt a very cold draught coming from the window control panel on the drivers door, it is the first time I have ever noticed this since having the car (over a year) is it the norm ? I checked the window was fully closed and the grommets but they all seem in place, any ideas ? Thanks Paul
  13. Matt, ordered the tyres from Elite Direct, great service and price with next day delivery. Thanks Paul
  14. Thanks for all your replies on this subject, after lots of reviews I have decided to go for these: http://www.elitedirect.com/2254018-vredestein-ultrac-vorti.html They appear to be very good for grip, the price is good and I am going to get them fitted locally. One last question, has anyone used Elitedirect.com for tyres ? Any issues? Thanks
  15. Thanks for all you views on this. I have also been looking at some Vredstein Vorti tyres, they seem to get some really good reviews and are a good price however I have never heard of the brand, are they a mid range or premium tyre ??
  16. I need two new front tyres and am just looking around at the moment, (I currently have Bridgestone Potenzaz on) has anyone recently replaced any tyres or have any recommendations? I think I am going to buy them from Blackcircles and get them fitted locally as this works out the cheaaper option (unless I can haggle the same price locally) Thanks in advance Paul
  17. My 58 plate IS220 is due to run out of warranty this month. I have been quoted £760 for another year with my main dealer, has anyone managed to get a discount on this price or is it a fixed price? Thanks Paul
  18. Thank you both for your replies, sounds like it may be normal. I have my car in for an MOT yesterday and they didn't highlight it as an issue. Thanks again Paul
  19. Hi all, I have noticed that sometimes when I turn the steering wheel on my 08 220d it makes a slight knocking noise, has anyone else experienced this issue? If so any ideas what it is (my warranty runs out next month !!!) Many thanks Paul
  20. Hi, yes I followed the advice but it is only slightly better, it is in for a service next week so will get them to check for anything, could it be 5th injector?? Thanks Paul
  21. Deso, I am about to get my 40k service done which I presume will be the same as yours (the big service) I have managed to get my service down to £330 which includes the following :- high grade fully synthetic 0w/30 engine oil and covering the following parts oil filter and sump washer brake fluid change rear diff oil change and air conditioning pollen filter change, a new key fob battery, a full strip down of front and rear brakes grease and refit. lights locks all other levells toped up and an ecu update if not already on the latest data. the other slightly cheaper service includes oil and filter change and a air filter change and a brake visual check and 60 pointv check list. both services are carried out by lexus trained technicians and genuine lexus parts. Hope this helps
  22. Well I disconnested the battery and am now getting around 37/38 mpg up from 34/35 mpg around town, not a great increase but an increase none the less. I am slightly concerned that when I am driving on the motorway (60/70 mph with cruise control) this drops to arond 35 mpg again !!! My car is due for a service this month, is it worth a mention when it goes in or is this somewhere near what other people are getting?? Thanks in advance Paul
  23. Hi Paul, I cleaned my own EGR Valve and got some excellent results in respect of mpg returns. You don't need to remove the fuses to reset the ECU, just disconnect the negative lead from the battery and leave it off for a while. I left mine disconnected overnight but you might not need to leave it that long. have a look at this link to a thread by Matus, it covers the resetting of the ECU in there. Hope this helps. http://www.lexusowne...showtopic=72447 Bluenose1940, does disconnecting the battery have any effect on anything else ?
