  1. Hi, thanks for the reply, that's exactly what happened and it's back to normal now. So all great now, the car has only done 34000 I think I need to drive it just a little bit more
  2. Thank you for the reply, the car has only done 34,000 miles and I haven't driven it properly in about a month so it could be a low charge, I did turn of the heat, auto headlights and no music, I also prefer to turn the Stop Start off anyway and when I stopped my journey for today and let the car idle the battery charge sign didn't come back on. So hopefully I can't complete my journey and get it checked properly in the next service which is due very shortly

  4. Hi, I own a 2015 Lexus IS 200T and it's more a weekend car. I haven't driven it much lately. I went on a motorway journey today for approx 2 hours and when the car was standing still a display on the dash would come with a diagonal line through the letter A and underneath it says Battery Charging. Does this mean my Battery is about to go flat or it's indicating its low and is charging. I'm concerned as I have long journey tomorrow and I can't get a replacement battery until next week. If anyone can assist that would be most appreciated? Thank you.
  5. I understand what you mean and the Financial Ombudsman are pretty much useless from what I keep hearing. Im going to think about what kind of 'case' I can put together then decide. But yes, there must be a more stringent better body to regulate and govern these insurance companies, its like they have us 'hand over fist' at all times. If they say the insurance prices have gone up this year, they keep singing that same song each year and we have to sit and accept it, how do we counter that? How do we know they have? That's just one example of the plots they use.
  6. I've used that method aswell during the last 3 or 4 years. I agree about 3 weeks out is good timing. As today showed its still abit of a lottery and luck. I had generated a quote on the comparison site and the cheapest was £526. I wanted to double check something on the quote so I went back on my browser, what this did was refresh the entire search and then to my pleasent surprise I got £475, this significant change within 30 seconds.
  7. Here is an update. I'm getting a full refund from Hastings Direct You Drive, minus the days I've been insured and a £20 set up fee. (Apparently they have waived the £20 cost of the device) this was supposed to be all clear in the ts&cs?! I have got a quote for £475 without blackbox from General Accident. Inc the £20 set up fee that Hastings are keeping, it works out £3 cheaper than last year. I still believe Hastings have misold the policy so I'm considering seeking reimbursement for the time it's cost me to deal with this out of running my own business.
  8. My postcode is OK, I've been a Lexus owner for nearly 20 years I'm on my 3rd model and this years insurance is alot higher, like you eluded, its just not right, makes no sense.
  9. I've received the device yesterday, its a small triangle shape and apparently I need to download there app and pair it with the device. What company did you get the cheap price you mentioned?
  10. I agree with you and what you mentioned upon renewal that the price increased just goes to show how we are in there hands, how could they justify the price increase... Ridiculous. Surely there has to be a governing body that can clamp down on these tactics. Furthermore I'm baffled how a young dri er with little to no experience is getting a cheaper price than one who is vastly experienced, also they mentioned using the device as part of the policy, I'm going to ask the question where in there ts & Cs does it say I must own a smartphone? As that's the only way to use the device. Anyway, thank you for taking the time to post.
  11. That's fine. The telematics device is to monitor your driving, how you accelerate, your braking, cornering etc then it gives you a score which then your insurance price is based on.
  12. Thanks for replying. I'm in my mid 40s, clean license with 13 years ncb. I've been quoted £445 fully Comp but without the device it's £583.ive been paying around the £450 price for the last 2 years but this has taken me aback somewhat, especially the device and how the insurance company is trying to make things difficult now
  13. Hi, can anyone please recommend some car insurance companies that tend to have the cheapest prices? I've searched on the comparison websites and most of them say you have to use a telematics monitoring device in order to obtain the best price. Any help would be great thank you.
  14. I am looking to buy a complete set of 4 IS 200t F Sport Alloys. If anyone can let me know of any for sale that would be great. Thank you
  15. I came across the launch of the new Lexus IS500 F Sport (5L V8) It looks amazing and so pleased they have made it. I rang my local dealership only to be told it will not be released in UK or Europe. So dissapointed with this news and its the worst move Lexus could make imo. Is there anyway we could all get together and write or get this decision reversed? I would buy one for sure.
  16. Its really baffled me aswell, the thing is it looked good and factory standard Inc the diffuser.
  17. LOL, not for me. The car I saw didn't look like an after market, the quad pipes and the diffuser looked very much factory standard, hence my intrigue.
  18. Thanks. Had a brief look the quad pipes in this link are circular the ones I saw on the car were rectangular/square.
  19. I saw a Lexus IS300 H I believe it was a couple of years old possibly 2018 and I noticed it had quad exhaust pipes, 2 either side. I never seen any latest IS model with quad tail pipes. Does anyone have any further info on this? And is this something that can be modified on a IS200t? Thank you
  20. Nice. Get the official rear boot spioler to put the icing on the cake 👍
  21. Got a 2015 IS 200t F Sport. I tend to drive it mainly on weekends, so whilst its standing i notice the brake discs become a brown rusty colour. When i drive the car and then park it up the colour disappears, however after a couple of days parked up, they begin to become a brown rusty colour again. Is there a way to keep them looking silver? Hoping someone can assist, thank you
  22. UPDATE: So i purchased a new battery from Lexus which they also fitted and start up issue solved. Starts without any hesitation. Thank you to everyone for your help.
  23. Thanks for the help. I think so aswell. I dont drive the car much as its a weekend car. Im going to buy a trickle charger and see how i get on. Allthough it struggles as per video, at times it starts without much hesitation
  24. Thank you very much to everyone who has provided some help and advise. I havent done anything over the festive period but im going to buy a bolt meter and charger today and do the various tests suggested. I will update you as soon as ive done them. Thanks again
