I need a new battery for my LS400 Mk4 and am at a complete loss to understand the flaw in my plan to buy one. I do hope someone can advise please ? After typing in my registration number and model details, all of the websites I use seem to recommend a 306mm length battery .............a Bosch S4 for example. Yet when I look at the battery tray in my car, it is only built for a 270mm battery I guess. Has someone changed the tray at some point do you think, or where can I get a new battery that is about 270mm long to fit my Lexus ? Sorry for the half-wit question, but grateful for a quick pointer on this :-)

I certainly don't want to turn this into a 'Party Political Broadcast' as I have worked in financial markets for the past 25 years, but completely agree with Mike. It is pure greed by the various companies involved, nothing more and nothing less, with companies such as car insurer Admiral already forecast to make almost £300 million of profit next year. No doubt this greed also extends to other vital services we cannot do without, such as water, gas and electricity, where it is almost morally obscene that our news seems to be filled with stories of ever constant price rises to levels that ordinary people can no longer afford in these difficult economic times, yet where Scottish & Southern Energy report pre-tax profits of £2.1 billion last year, Centica (gas) £2.8 billion, National Grid (Elec) £2.6 billion. When is enough enough and will car insurance go the same way, as we have no choice but to buy it, whatever the cost ? ........OK, soapbox away now !

I'm really not going to go to Lexus and have to buy four of these when I only need one, or even just one at the prices they are charging !! So if any kind soul has a spare centre cap or has changed their alloys etc and would be happy to sell me a silver cap, I'm would be very happy to buy. :D Many thanks
