  1. Hi Martin, Like i said earlier, i had all those issues, tried the jiggery pokery myself, worked for a day or two then gave up altogether. I'm no expert, but, i think it's the mirror motor. If your dealer is not playing ball, phone Lexus Wolverhampton, they booked the call with Lexus UK and agreed within 15 minutes that it was a common fault with Lexus in general. Type in "Dipping" in the search facility. Regards
  2. Hi Martin, Sounds like the motor behind the mirror needs replacing, i had that with one of mine, asked the dealer to take out and lubricate, but, to no avail, had it changed under warranty, only took about 30 mins, no idea of the cost though. Regards
  3. HI Kenny, I've got a IS250 auto, great car to drive, driven the IS220 as a loan car, just didn't do it for me, didn't seem as refined and just missed the auto box in my car so much even after just a few weeks ownership, Cost wise I think both car are fairly expensive to own if you use the main dealers. As far as fuel costs are concerned, my 250 being driving gently in town (not nose to tail, steady 25 to 40 mph) averages around 25mpg (actual consumption, fuel computer shows around 28mpg), it can drop to just below in winter and just over when it's warmer weather. On the motorway at a steady 70mph using cruise control, I can get around 40mpg (computer shows 45mpg). I'm not sure where you mainly drive, but, you may have to adjust your spreadsheet for town conditions and one for motorway driving. Whatever you choose, enjoy it, I love my 250 auto, just wish it was a little more economical, but, that's the price you pay for V6 2.5 refinement. Cheers
  4. At all speeds, it's more noticeable at higher speeds, even if the road camber is minimal.
  5. Thanks, i'll ask the questions in more depth and see if i can try a different vehicle test drive,
  6. Hi, Just after a bit of advice, I recently purchased a 2007 250SEL from a dealership and realised it is suffering from the gentle pulling / drifting to the left whilst driving. The dealership has already test drove the vehicle and subsequently supplied me foc with 2 new front Bridgestones, adjusted the ride height, replaced the front shocks and springs and carried out the wheel alignment. Despite all of this I am still suffering from the problem, I’m about to contact the dealer again to say I’m not convinced the problem has been resolved. The dealership have been very helpful, but I feel as if they are not too sure about what else they can do for me. Do you have any thoughts on what else they can try ? Thanks
  7. Hi guys (newbie here), I’m thinking of buying my first IS250MM auto from an approved dealer on a 57 plate with 30,000 on the clock. I’m a little unsure as to what the running costs of the vehicle are, most of my driving is town driving (but, not nose to tail city centre) and dual carriageways at 40 mph, I’m easy on the pedals. What mpg do most of you get, reading the forums, it’s anything between 22 and 35 mpg, which is a big difference ? Servicing costs are coming out at £230, £400, £600 for the 40, 50 and 60,000 miles at a dealer (with a 10% to 15% LOC gold discount). Sytner’s 5+ silver and gold services are £100 and £200 respectively (they are not quite the same as the Lexus service, so the service stamp is not provided). The Lexus Essential care service, is £120 and £250 respectively (not sure if the stamp is always provided unless you have extra work, fluid and filter changes on top etc). Any thoughts on this guys ? Any of you recommend a cheaper specialist in the West Mids, or best to stay away from them ? Any dealers cheaper and better in the Midlands ? Tyres seem to much cheaper at the Blackcircles then dealers, however, Costco members can get them even cheaper (Bridgestone and Michelin only). When Costco have their special offers available a couple of times a year with 20% off, 225 and 245 on 17” rims, they were working out at just over £500 a full set fitted with nitrogen. I know the cars are bullet proof, but, my concern is that, it is such a complex car that when thing go wrong, it will cost an arm and leg the older it gets. Would any of you suggest buying the extended warranty on the vehicle or is it not worth it ? Are there any common faults that develop with the IS250MM auto, any recalls that I need to be concerned about ? Would appreciate any feedback from owners, good or bad before I buy the car. Regards
  8. Hi all, Anyone got any info on when the IS is being replaced. Read somewhere that it's late 2012, but, not sure. Thanks
