I think the best is probably a LS400 engine (1UZ), it's been done before. Would make the IS a really fun car with a 4.0 V8 under the bonnet. Pros - The engine is very cheap, it can handle power and it's light. Cons - Finding somebody to do the swap, parts for the conversion are quite expensive and there's not much support for mods.

There is massive demand for this here in the UK. Haven't seen it done too many times here (compared to the US), but if somebody does know who can do this swap, I'd like to know too.

I've heard the IS-Fs exhaust is very restrictive so getting the JoeZ decat exhaust system will give sufficient power gains. In terms of straight line performance and sound and you'll easily be level with the C63.

I've actually heard even with the IS300, the engine mounts, gearbox mount, gearbox, driveshaft and ecu would need to be changed. If all that's going to be done there isn't going to be much difference in me buying an IS200 is there, it will be a lot more cheaper.

I've currently been looking into buying an IS (first generation). Now what I really want is a 2JZGTE in one. This has been done numerous times in the US, but I've only heard of been done once in the UK. Now I've sent out emails to reputable Supra tuners and they either haven't replied or they've said they haven't done it before. Is there any reputable tuner in the UK that can do this swap? What would it be best to start off with? (IS200 or the IS300) And roughly how much would it cost to get this swap done? (Parts, engine & labour)

Don't want the engine fully built, just tuned to around 450hp (BPU). I'm sure the GTE engine and gearbox can handle that kind of power stock. Do you know anybody who can do this conversion?

Hello, I could not really find a topic about this so I decided to post one. I also posted this kind of topic, not long ago, on the Mkiv Supra owners club, they didn't really seem to know much about it. I'm looking to buy an IS300 soon and I want to swap 2JZ-GE engine for the stronger GTE engine. I want atleast 400RWHP and I don't think stock gearbox will be able to handle the power. So I may also have to upgrade the gearbox to the Supra Getrag 6 speed. I know this type of conversion isn't easy and I only know it's been done in the US. I was just wondering if anybody has had it done in the UK or do you know anybody who can do this type of conversion? How much am I looking at roughly (parts + labor)?
