  1. Hi Has anyone out there fitted aftermarket reversing sensors to an RX400H ? If so do you have any information on locating the reversing light wiring so I can wire in the sensor box Any assistance you can offer would be appreciated
  2. I too have sufferred the dead battery after an extended period of parking, Lexus replaced the battery stating the old one had ' dead cells' however after reading all the tales on this form and given that I do leave the car in the garage for extended periods I made up a timed trickle charger using an old timer from the gas central heating, a 12v relay and a trickle charger from Halfords The charger is switched on for an hour each day I am away and since it is connected via a relay it completely disconnects itself after an hour ( that way there is no risk of the battery discharging through the charger) I fitted a rubber mounted two pin socket across the battery and mounted it adjacent to the radiator at the front of the car I have used it several times and have had no problems starting even after the car has been left for 30 days
  3. After coming home from a months holiday to find my 2009 RX400H dead in the garage I built a trickle charger with a timer Using an old central heating timer the trickle charger comes on once a day for an hour, it is connected via a relay so when its not charging it is disconnected from the battery I've fitted a socket at the front of the car near the battery so I just plug in the charger and let it run whilst I'm away It's not a perfect solution and clearly not suitable for car parks etc but it resolved the problem for me
  4. Hi I would like to install an additional power socket on my 2009 Rx400H - adjacent to the one below the gear selector on the piece of white trim on the floor Is there an easy way to get access to the existing socket - try as I may I cannot see any obvious screws/catches etc which will allow this bit of plastic to be lifted ? I also need to run a cable from the passenger compartment into the engine compartment - any ideas wher there is a sutable hole / access point I could use ? Any advice would be appreciated
