As said i had a similar problem, mine was the clutch slipping but it got worse over a period of a week or two, until eventually the clutch decided it didnt want to play ball anymore and give up. Had it replaces at a cost of £300 including part and labour for a local garage to replace it. Now the car drives like new. I wouldn't say to use a main dealer and it could end up being costly, try to find a garage with a good reputation that will take a look at it for you, as with anything engine related could be anything. WIth previous cars ive always had there are alot of cowboy garages about.

Turns out was just the clutch, car feels like a whole new car to drive now, which some getting used to.

fuel consumption is poor, i knew it would be bad but its really poor, car had done 121k miles, its in the garage tuesday but i wanted to prepare myself for a shock ha ha any idea how much a flywheel is for the is200? i heard its costly?

So i have realised i have a problem with my 2001 lexus is200, in 2nd -4th gear when you put your foot down do overtake or just to speed up the car revs and the engine gets noisier but the car doesn't seem to move quick at all and sometimes judders, would this be a misfire or new clutch? Maybe something else, just wondered if anyone could help or have any idea's as i cant get it into the garage i normally use for a couple of days

Hi guys, im new to the lexus word, will im suddenly turn into an alan partridge look alike? I purchased the car tonight, a 2001 is200, and the car is spot on, comfortable, fully loaded, few minor issues hence me signing upto the site but i will post those in the correct categorys.
