most mornings when i start my is200, i get a screech from the starting motor. can it be sorted or does it need replacin. it does not do it the rest of the day. any advice. thank you ..paul

i have had lexus is200 s b4 but always new, so am new to the faults of an older one. just picked up this 2003 model. when i start it ,there is a bit of a whinnin/sheechin , is that the startin motor issue ? also when i start the car the heater (center button) always switches to the interior air flow. dont remember my other car doin that.. how do i sort that out. heater also seems hot even when turned down low temp. thank you if u can help paul
