  1. hi this is my first winter since i purchased lexus gs300 2001, never owned a RWD car before. on friday could not get lexus out of staff car park, would not move forward, a few cm of snow on ground. I had even put 2 X 20kg bags of flour in boot but to no avail. I purchased some michellin mutligrip snow chains, similar to snow socks but had chains made from tough nylon material. it was impossible to get them on even though video showed someone putting them on 3 minutes very misleading. i am now looking at alternatives as i need car for work, looking at snow/winter tyres, are they the answer dont mind the investment if they work, as i intend to keep car for long time. does any one else have any other tips, help much appreciated. what about snow mode and VSC all this is new to me not sure what they all mean, although did put car in snow mode still could not get it to move forward in drive mode
  2. this is the first winter i have had with my lexus gs300. never driven RWD before. I used to drive mazda 6 last year in snow no probs at all.on friday tried to get car out from car park whre a few cm of snow collected, could not get it to move forward just kept spinning this was with 40kg weight in trunk, tried snow mode to no avail had to leave car in secure car park and wait till snow melts. Tried snow socks but impossible to get on to my 235 45 r17, Also with snow socks you have to take them off as soons as you get on to treated roads otherwise it damages the sock, so its a bit pointless. now thinking about investing in a good quality set of snow tyres at 400 - 600 pounds plus changing them over in spring at £5 at tyre got to be worth it. any one got any advice. do snow tyres really work, help help !! i love my car but frustrated that i am without a car for weekend and frightened at the thought of driving it on summer wheels and it getting out of control
  3. just brought a lexus GS300, converted to LPG. \car has only done 40000k, and recently converted. The engine management light came on last week stayed on for 2 days then switched it self off. a week later it came back on again, took it to LPG converter who diagonsed error code P0141 which i beleive is first bank oxygen sensor. Any way i left the garage and shortly after the light went off gain. this is now happening intermittenley but stays on only for 2 days. should i get the oxy sensor...
