you will have to take me a spin mate things have come on since last time i was init
do you stil have the hks backbox or you went for something louder
No probs. I still have the HKS silent hi-power... its loud enough for me (about the same as stock) i let the engine do the screaming

You need to get the car up on a ramp to inspect the cable mate. Check the handbrake switch inside the car, connections can get jolted or snagged if the center console is ever removed...
-
Yes you will have to move the PWR steering cooler, its only 2 bolts (iirc)
Be careful when you remove the air con pipes, the gas will come out quite violently, when its de-gasing get away from the car, or work in a open space, DON'T breath the gas in or your a55 will be knocked OUT!
Also, removing the AC pump completley means you need a smaller drive belt for your pwr steering and water pump pulleys ;)

top job mate
what power you hoping for mate ?
is that super charger still eating those belts or is that issue sorted
daz
300+ would be nice :) last power run at Thor she did around 280, with no mapping of any kind.
doesn't eat belts at all, fixed the problem while ago.. its now making the 6-pots work very very hard indeed... so its eating my brakes up if anything
mapping soon!

bro... mind if i ask wat brand of air intake u use???
Its part of the supercharger kit. i use the LM air filter :)

yes me and am (mr singh ) swapped zorsts he had my hks i had is kazama the differance on the tezza to mine was quite remarkable
my hks on mine was silent on the tezza sounded realy beafy but the kazama on the tezza i thought sounded great very loud though
but a tottaly different sound on mine
Yeh, the Kazama on mine was way too loud, i couldn't hear nothing but the exhaust. Its likea buddy club exhaust. LOUD AS ****!
The HKS Silent hiper is perfect for my ears, just a tad bit louder than stock, beefy bassy sound and not at all in your face... The supercharger kills that anyway :D

Jason, here are my new late spec JDM Altezza dials...
Can you do something for me on them?
-
Where and how much did you get your whole clutch/flywheel set-up for if you don't mind me asking? Think ill need a new clutch soon so advice would be appreciated :winky: And wheres your s/c gone??
TRD Friction disc from Kinway Motorsport £120 inc shipping from HK
Exedy Pressure plate from Prolex £200 inc shipping
Bullet Steel Flywheel from JPS Trading £180 inc shipping from Japan
Release bearing from Toyota £50
Total £550
You can get a full TODA kit from JPS trading (ebay) for around £500, which inc. all the above, minus the bearing...

Ok some pics..
new pressure plate (Exedy)
new bullet steel ultra lightweight flywheel (5.8kg)
Flywheel attached to new motor
Exedu Pressure plate, TRD Organic friction disc and Flywheel installed and aligned.
New clutch release bearing installed.
Going in.
In, albiet needing a detail..
This is a cool rad cap i got, made by PIAA/Spac, it releases trapped air into the coolant overflow tank :)
Once the clutch has bedded in, it will be time to install the Power FC ECU, 530cc injectors and Map it! Runs smooth, quiet and crisp :)
Cheers.

Ok its running, and how sweet it is! It was just a loose earth :)
Pics and more later!
-
Congrats, thats impressive stuff!
:)

The motors in, started first time.
However after we took it off the axel stands and put the bonnet on, it refused to start after. The relays just chatter (fuse box in the engine) when ignitions turned on.. So we have to take a look...
Other than that, it ran superbly. The new flywheel makes a nice whir sound on idle, better to my ears than the TRD one aswell!
Fingers crossed the electrical fault is something simple!
Cheers

Well, got load of new parts which inc.
Bullet Steel 5.8kg Flywheel, this is 600grams lighter than my old TRD unit. Its comparable to the JUN U/L flywheel which has been discontinued.
Exedy Sports Clutch Cover (thanks to Dave @ Prolex)
TRD Organic Clutch Disc
Clutch Release bearing
Power Enterprise Oil Filter
Blitz LM Air Filter Element
New sump plug (with a powerful neo magnet on the tip)
New Radiator
Millers/Halfords Fluids (coolant, engine/transmission/power steering oils)
That little lot came in at quite a sum. However a jobs worth doing its worth doing right :)
Work will proceed on Sunday.

So what's next, other than either moving house as Stav suggested, or ripping out the driveway to level it off? :D
Jamie
We had to do that.
Some advice. Get the nose down, and back up. It helps with the handling. Otherwise you get this side to side rocking sensation when the backs that beached down low, even with TRD yellows!

Hey guys, jus wondering could i get some advice on a clutch change, will i go for a standard toyota one or an uprated clutch?? dont really want a really heavy or jerky action but need some durability, any suggestions on types(makes)?? thanks
if ur clutch is gone i cant see the point for replacing it with another standard one for about an extra 200 Euro you can get an uprated Exedy one for about 560 Euro from Xtreme Autos and will last forever
Not in my case ;)
-
I might look into it, but in the past i've always just spent the lil extra and bought new ones!
-
On second glance, i don't think it will fit...
The lower rad pipe appears on the opposite side to mine... both top and bottom are on right side ( from the front of the car )
-
Thanks mate, i'll check it out... looks like theres 2 listed... i guess ones manual and other one is auto
-
You don;t think so but it was labelled to fit IS200/Toyota Altezza? Doesn't make sense unless you meant it fits both
where did u get it from anyway
-
Is the radiator different for the I200 and Altezza?
I know the overflow tank/fan assembly is different..
Thanks,
Am.

After about 2yrs of service, this is what my TRD flywheel looks like
And my pressure plate.
Clutch had been slipping for few weeks, so have eased of using any boost at all...
Doing an engine change since i picked up a low mileage unit for a good price...
Also i've found the headgasket has been leaking... I suspected it anyway after some overheating problems i've had lately..
New motor will be in next weekend, after i source a new pressure plate and flywheel... Already have a TRD Sportsfaced friction disc...
With some luck the Apexi Power FC will be installed along with bigger injectors and some intensive mapping!
My old motor will be for sale, it could well serve someone if there looking to do a monster 3S-GE build motor, i considered it but i'm not preparred to put anymore cash into the car now.
Cheers.
-
Looking good Sam. Does Leon and mapping facilitys yet? been a while since i popped down there.
-
They turned out good didn't they :)
Not sure i would put them in my own car, but never the less, superbly!
-
yup tis mine. done the shoot back in feb, car has changed somewhat, running a much more aggressive offset/tyre combo...
i thought the feature was crap to be honest... but hey ho, they were on my case i'm not too fussed!
cheers

Doubt it, iirc the RS200 has 8 bolts on the flywheel to crank, IS200 has 6 bolts.. apart from that i suspect there are other fundimental differences
