Hi can anyone in West Midlands (nearer to Wolverhampton) recommend and independent Lexus specialist. Had my tension belt snap and pulley fall apart. Anyway this has been replaced by my garage and was told by them that the car engine does not sound right and may be time to get rid of it. It has only done 108k miles. As a Lexus car I would like to think the 2007 model Lexus is220d se-l would be reliable to hit past the 200k miles. Recently while travelling on motorway I have noticed the car sound rough while allowing car to reduce speed to 60 mph. I would like to see if there is an independent specialist who can shed some light on what may be the cause and indicational costs so I can decide what to do Thank you

Hi Herbie Thanks for your research The first 1 i spoke to they don't do electrical diagnosis although the name would suggest otherwise The 2nd i did not come across so will look further into them Lexus charging 150 an hour which cannot justify for such an old car Thanks again- 17 replies

Hi Thanks for your prompt response. I believe the AA did a test to rule the alternator out. I'm not no clued up on technical stuff so was looking for an reliable auto electrician to diagnose issue once and for all. Reading many posts online with battery drain issues on lexus is220d- 17 replies

Hi All Hoping for advice. I have Lexus Is220d 2007 model. Recently something is draining my battery but i have no idea what it is. Local garage checked drain, confirmed a significant drain on battery. Suggested i find auto electrician. After numerous online searches not able to find auto electrician in local area. Any ideas what may cause a drain or even a good auto electrician in Wolverhampton area. Thanks for any advice Kully

Best All season tyres

Definitely, a pain. Would prefer to match all 4. But non the less at least it shows budget range winters just as good as just checked i have triangle winters on rear. Which will change when tread has gone -

So finally the snow came today. So i had opportunity to test my michelin cross climates. And i am very pleased, noproblems in snow what so ever. Drove down small roads where snow was untouched upto 2to 3 inches of snow. Didn't want to come back home. Cross climates on front and Budget snow tyres on rear. Will replace rear with vector 4 seasons when they need replacing as michelin don't do rears in my rear size. -

I read about the socks but read they are only for use for very short journeys not ideal for constant use. A case of stopping to take off after passing areas of snow -

This is my point exactly. Having a rear wheel drive Lexus it is not very safe on icy or snowy roads, in my first year of owning really came stuck in the snow. So after that i used to swap to winters and then summers. But recently fed up taking seasonal tyres to local garage as well as storing them. Now with all season tyres. Will see how they fare with the forthcoming winter. -

Thanks for your reply. I have gone with Michelin cross climates on front. My rear are virtually new budget all season but will change those when needed as can't really afford to change rears too. Goodyear do not do rear size 245 45 17 in vector 4 seasons otherwise would have had those on my front now instead of Michelin. -

Hi Roy Thanks for your reply. My winter tyres were budget tyres Triangle i think and even as a budget tyre they were excellent in snow. I am decided now definitely going with Michelin -

I will most likely go michelin as goodyear don't do rears on mine in Vector4 seasons -

What model do you have? The first year of owning my 220d i got stuck in snow. After which i put winters on in winter. They served me well never got stuck. But hassle of storing and changing too much now. So looking for all seasons just wanted reassurance that all seasons can handle the snow. But yes i am most likely going with michelin cross climate. -

Hi PCM Thanks for your reply. I was looking at going with Goodyear Vector4 all seasons but they only do them in 225 45 17 for front but not 245 45 17 at the rear. I have considered the Goodyear Vector 4 seasons on front and Michelin cross climate on rear. But not 100% sure as i prefer same brand all round. In which case i may go with the michelin cross climate all round. Just wanted to get some opinions before i decide. Thanks again
