  1. Hi is200 newbie, No it's been like it for a long while. I think it just got worse very slowly it wasn't really noticeable, until the last 6 months. Spoke to my garage again today, who say it's not the slide pins as they serviced them while in. They think it is the servo. At times like these I wish I was a mechanic.
  2. Hi Ryan, thanks for the reply. I'd been waiting for the cars service/MOT yesterday to get the garage to look at it, as we had both thought air in the system. They bled the system refilled, but not much better. So today I started to look for an answer, I found your post and you are describing exactly the same symptoms I have. So now I shall call my garage and suggest this to him, to be fair to him he hasn't really looked into the problem yet. But is knowledgeable on the Lexus's so should know. Regards, Garry
  3. Hi Ryan, This is exactly the same problem I am having. I have had the brakes bled yesterday to no avail. Can you please let me know if your brakes still working fine? Thanks Garry
  4. Hi Greg, I'm having exactly the same problem with my IS220d 2006. It's just had a service in which I got them to bleed the brakes through and this has made little/no noticeable difference. I was thinking of looking at the servo next but if it made no difference to yours I'll give it a miss. Please keep us informed if you do find the cause. Thanks Garry
  5. That's the web site lincoln based, seem a great company. I was getting 31 mpg until it took it in, just been on a run and averaged 37.5 mpg and that was start stopping traffic jams on country roads.
  6. Hi Steve, well I bottled taking the car to Birmingham. Instead I found a garage in Lincoln called Toyotek, Toyota Lexus specialist. They have flushed the DPF given it a regen with their software and replaced the EGR with another unit, washered, hooved and blacked the tyres for £360. The car is like new, it drives totally different to before. I should now get a better return on my mpg, but I'll have to see what this gain will be. I would highly recommend this company to anyone, very knowledgable.
  7. I've had someone from here recommend the Car Surgeon ltd Birmingham for a dpf filter clean on my lexus is220d. Has anyone else used them or heard of them? A quick response would be appreciated as its booked in tomorrow at 11:00.
  8. Hi, I have herd that poor mileage can associated to the ECU not being up to dated. Does anyone know if there is any truth in this? And if so how do I find out if it is up to date? I'm guessing this will be one of those jobs where it has to go back to Lexus.
  9. Thanks Steve2006, when I bought the car just over a year ago I was aware the short distances I do may play havoc with the DPF. But back then you could legally take the out. How can you tell when the DPF is in regen? Or how hard/ long do you have to drive to put it in regen? I took the car for a hard drive the other week to try and clear it out and was planning on making it a regular thing.
  10. Hi Kevin B, Thanks for the post, I had seen the thread when I was having the problems. Sound like they know what they are doing. So what did they exactly do to your car, just a forced regen? I am aware the MOT rules have changed in Feb about the particular filter but my plan was just to slice it open remove the guts and reinstall. So technically it would still be there, as long as it passes the emissions test it should be fine, I hope. I have herd that you need to cap the fifth injector and the emulator tells the ecu that the filter is there and working. But true fully I haven't had the balls to do it yet lol. It been about 4 weeks 600 miles since I had the fault, I just put a tub of wynns dpf cleaner in and haven't had the problem since. Since the cleaner I've been using a fuel additive and all has been good. My mpg is still the low side of 30, but since owning the car it has never really higher than 34 mpg I do a lot of short journeys down country lanes so never get to a cruising speed and for ever changing gears. On a long run it use to go up to 47 mpg, so I'll have to see when I next do one. Apart form that the car drives fine.
  11. I have had this with my brakes since buying my car. If i depress the brake pedal it travels far, if i take my foot off the pedal and put it straight back on the pedal hardly travels and the brakes are razor sharp. Let me know if you find a cure.
  12. Sounds good then. I know what you mean I've had a couple of arse clenching moments pulling out on to round abouts if the revs haven't been high enough. Let me know how it goes on the mpg front, as I've been looking at these since I bought the car. Really hope the mpg gets back to where is should, I take it if it doesn't the DPF is past hope. Been looking at emptying the dpf and fitting an emulator, seems a few people have done this.
  13. Well second day running the millers Eco max at double dose. First day once it started to pull through I noticed a big difference, much smoother, pulls easier in lower revs. But the tank average mpg was being vey erratic. Jumping from 28 mpg to 24 within a second. Today still seems to have the extra grunt and the tank mpg seems to have settled down to an average of around 29.4 mpg. The bottle says it takes 200 miles to fully get going but from what I've seen so far I can only recommend it. I just hope as the dpf and engine get cleaner the mpg gets back to where it was. I was reading a thread on tuning boxes earlier, I see you've fitted one not long ago, how is that going?
  14. When I first got my lexus I changed the battery in one of my fobs. Bought a cheap one from a local car parts shop and It wouldn't work. Went to my local lexus dealer and they changed it for free. Always worth a try!! Plus while I was there they gave it a free check over, washed it and hoovered it out. They're not all that bad.
  15. I've also herd wifi signals from computer routers can cause problems with your doors not opening without using your fob.
  16. The millers said not to mix with another additive,so saving for the next tank full. I'm just hoping when I go to work tomorrow it runs fine. I'll let you know how the millers goes, thanks for all your help.
  17. Fingers crossed I think that's has done it. I've had to take the negative battery terminal off to knock it out of limp mode. Drove it hard for 15 miles and it hasn't come back. Before when I've knocked out of limp mode it would come back on within a mile or two. While I was at the shop I also got some millers diesel power ecomax, it suppose help the diesel burn cleaner. I'm going to try to use a premium diesel from now on, I've filled with shells power once and noticed a big improvement in power so I guess it burns cleaner. My local garage just sells the usual stuff so will have to take a trip out to fill up.
  18. Right then off to halfords I go. Going to be a long slow journey.
  19. Scrap that, took the car out this morning and after 5 miles the same error returned and went back into limp mode. So looks like it maybe be the dpf. Is there anything else it could be? Could the valve be faulty, is there any way of testing it? If I remove the filter in the dpf will it need remapping straight away, or will I still be able to drive it till I can get it remapped.
  20. The valve it self wasn't to bad. But where it mounts to was pretty bad. I hadn't noticed a problem with my mpg. I don't travel far in it each day and I get about 33 mpg. On a good run 47 mpg, I know there not to efficient. What does yours average?
  21. Great just done it, not that hard. Struck the car up and error gone. Thanks for all your help.
  22. Thanks I will try that. But I'm by no means a mechanic, I'll have to find a how to guide lol.
  23. I did that and got the dpf to, but other sites said egr. So I'm confussed now.
  24. Right I've borrowed a diagnostic tester this morning and I get a error code p2002. Please help !!! Seem it could still be anything
