  1. Congratulations..... had a couple recent good weeks with mine, oppertunity to give it some beans, going to miss it
  2. Looks like all the owners are in the north west (I'm in Cheshire) Mine goes in March, after 6 months and about 5K miles. Lots to love about it but for me it kind of falls between two stools, not an out and out sports car or fully practical family car ** I always think its the perfect sports car for a 65+ year old, fast, loud, comfy, ultra reliable...kind of a better M6, Merc SL, F-type etc. I find the rear seats fantastic coming from 911's And to encourage the temperatures to warm up in these cold winter mornings, try leaving it in sport, it holds slightly higher revs (lower gears) and I find it halves the time before the heating is up to use. Ive got a range rover sport coming for comfy daily duties....and a 12c spider for high days
  3. I have one, had it about 2 months , 1500 miles There is also a forum section on them here http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/forum/181-lexus-rc-owners-club-rc-200t-rc-300h-rc-f-club/ It's fast, loud and stunning interior, the outside looks divide opinion (some love it, others suggest it's a bit ugly) I know it doesn't matter to you, but the rear seats are really useful (compared to a 911). It is however a a heavy car, so much more muscle car that "sports car" (think BMW M6, F-type jag, Merc SL/CL etc) (I've come from a series of 911's, NSX, GTIs and a couple of RS4 avants) It definitely as fast any any of that much (perhaps faster) but perhaps not A to B On a track I imagine it would be fun, although it can be just a little dim witted. If I had to drive to south of France , I would take it in a heart beat, on a special Sunday morning blast with no kids...an older 911 or even something like a F-type convertible might be better. Mine will be for sale soon (I swap out every 4 or so months) it's already on the Hatfield web site (blue one). My suggestion is try and get an extended test drive in one, it's truly is beautifully crafted (and full of tech).
  4. Bloody great looking that !!!!!I really wanted red, but was told the blue ones are faster :-)
  5. Thanks for the welcome (unfortunately I've been a member for over two years, it's taken me this long to buy one) Another apology ....some of what i wrote in my "first impressions" above has turned out to me wrong..... When clicked over into sport + and through a series of tight sweeping roads, it's definitely handles better than the RS4 (as well as being faster) Brakes need bedding in....(nearly had a oops moment) Also who thought it was a good idea to put a g meter in a car, it's like having a devil on your shoulder encouraging hard acceleration, braking and steering.
  6. Just had mine 5 days (500 miles) Early feedback...(come from two back to back RS4s) Attracts lots of attention Lots of beeps and warnings (need to work out how to turn them all off) Beautiful and comfortable interior (visibility is really bad) Small rear seats Cool dash (LCD that changes when you go in sport and sport + mode) Nice noise Fast (similar to RS4) On the road it feels like it handles as well (no better) than a RS4...although on a damp bit of road...I experienced wheel spin...not felt that for a while :-) Bit dim witted/ slow to rev however only done sub 500 miles (so needs loosening up), although I probably need to man handle it more and stop being so gentle with it. Small fuel tank (55 litres) combined with eary 20s Mpg results in limited range. Summary.. not a sharp edged/handling sports car..but instead a beautifully crafted (and powerful ) muscle car, think more F type/ M6 and less BMW M4 nice to have a bespoke a body/chassis no danger of a 1.6d equivalent pulling up alongside.
  7. Thanks for all the replies Seller is "selling for one of his company directors" hence the lack of clarity of MLP - He is also looking to hold out for very close to the asking price I am now on hols till the end of August, so will cool down my pursuit and see if the car is still available late August.
  8. seller seems to think it has MLP, and was serviced only last month - looking promising ???
  9. Thanks - Am I right in thinking a F- sport lists (new) at £4k more than a lux (£40k verus £36k) Also I assume it is missing MLP ? Is this a big deal ??
  10. Hi all I am on the look out for a 2012 GS (ideally lux or F sport) This particular one caught my eye ( good colour and close to me), can anyone share their thoughts, feedback on the price & spec etc ? Apologises if it a forum members car - in which case I expect nothing but praise:-) I know they are some cracking finance deals around, however on the face of it if this could be had at £24k to £25k it could be a good deal. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LEXUS-GS250-F-SPORT-2012-/271246583420?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item3f278e667c Cheers Ps no mention of first service (annual aren't they ?) What else to look out for ??
  11. 2 months on…still procrastinating….spend my evenings reading the literature/ watching youtube reviews, but still haven’t managed to pull the trigger :( Anyone know of any private GS250s for sale ? Or has the Lexus franchise dealerships got the market sewn up ? I'd love a 2012 GS250 Lux (or Fsport)
  12. Thanks for the reply, I should have been more clear, having to have the car serviced every 10k miles could end up being a bit of a PITA. I currently run a VW golf which is on long life (annual service) , prior to that I had a Porsche which was every 20k miles or two years. Going back to every 6 months (10k) will take some getting used to, saying that we have a Lexus dealership couple of miles from where I work and assume lexus will collect and drop off. With regards affordability, I will need to get a used one, appears you can get a decent deal on lightly used demos. I am likely to keep it for at least three years.
  13. Hi all Currently looking to potentially get a 2013 GS, I do about 20k miles a year, about 95% on motorways. Priorities are comfort, quietness and subtle image. I assume I will be better off with a 250 luxury ? Am I right in thinking servicing is every 10k miles/6 months ? Anything else I need to be aware of ? Cheers
