  1. So today I've tried three suitcases in the boot and they fit so I'm going to drive and park at the airport this summer, concerned now though regarding battery drain - although I assume airport on site carparks would have someone to assist if we need this? seems silly that can't park a car for two weeks without worrying it will restart again :(
  2. Most definitely not enough - I paid £7k for 2002 with 127k on the clock!!! These cars are few and far between, we had trouble sourcing one and drove for miles to view one that was in terrible condition and priced up at 10k.
  3. Little tip for those with dark cars invest in some autoglym HD or a product called duck smart - quick detailer great stuff, my OH runs his own mobile valeting business has been trading 10 years and knows his stuff, our car being navy blue gleams in fact when it snowed we were the only car to have no snow on it as it would just slide straight off again lol. Oh and never use the hand car wash people they use diluted truck wash, will spray TFR in direct sunlight - this will ruin the paintwork over years, they also use the same cloths over and over again to keep cost down, always use a clean cloth on each panel of the car - one small tiny bit of grit and you'll end up swirly forever!!! Anyway back on subject - sightings, I see a gold with cream leather coming off Canvey Island last week - the first one I have seen on the road :)
  4. Got car out garage and tyre front drivers side was flat, seems its been going down for some while as I had forgotten to check my pressures and no longer have the pressure light connected - so lesson learnt!!! Drove to tyre centre cost to replace one run flat £260 after conversation with the advisor there decided to switch to non run flats on the front so went for Avon £333 for front two. Will be replacing back ones next month, Ob need to keep close eye on now as have no spare wheel, but he did say as long as I've got breakdown cover I can get towed back to the garage and the avons have a puncture guarantee for a year.
  5. Ill have to take it on a motorway journey and reset trip before leaving to see what mpg reading is this way, although have nothing to compare too as I've never taken the car on a long journey.
  6. I'm just seeing better results from purchasing the car on 127k miles, 19.6mpg, slowly increasing to now 26.6mpg for round town trips as this is all I do each week - to me that's a difference and over the next few months would have paid for itself and will continue to save me on fuel. Thankyou for your replies though its one if those cases of each to their own.
  7. No worries glad to be of assistance :) yeah when time comes ill have a good shop around for new tyres.
  8. That looks very nice :) I've heard on the grapevine that Sunday is meant to be awesome day for being roofless :)
  9. Another update and rather a pleasant one too, well I reset the trip on the computer yesterday and went for a little drive about nothing major only about 10 miles but was very pleasant to see mpg sitting at 26.6 my best reading to date :)
  10. I am a bit "into the weather" and visit the forums of net weather and I'm being told that 22-28th April is looking very good for warmth and sunshine - this could be it for a while sooooo - just a head up anyway guys lol.
  11. Here's a link to disconnect the sensor if u wish to do so: http://www.clublexus.com/forums/sc-430/189740-how-to-disable-tire-pressure-monitoring-tpm-system-9.html I enquired about non run flat tyres looking at around 1k for four decent tyres - Bridgestone or continental!!! This reminds me I need to do a tyre pressure inspection now I've no warning light set up!!!!
  12. Update - still averaging around 21mpg around town - still not taken out for a long long run yet as weather been so pants not wanted to venture out anywhere far far away yet. But filled up with £50 last week and I still have fuel in the tank doing roughly same miles around town as I was doing on £60 fill, so I'm happy with that!!!

  14. Hello, I've just brought a 2002 52 reg too, mine had 2 previous owners, full lexus SH carried out every 10k miles without fail, all the paperwork showing hundreds have been spent on her also confirmed my high mileage was motorway miles, mines done double your mileage - I paid £7k. Enjoy :)
  15. The day we brought ours we had to have a jump start lol, went straight to get our battery checked and one the cells wasn't working, so needed to purchase a new battery! I did read some reviews before I brought the car from quite few people saying they had needed jump starts when their cars been left for holidays at the airport!!! I'm just thankful I can't fit all the cases in the boot this year!!! Ha ha - hope you find the answer x
  16. Thanks for the replies guys, can confirm I no longer have a misting up problem, think the car has had a chance now to get any standing round damp sorted. Found out about the automatic wipers by accident the other day, when I was sitting at traffic lights and realised they had switched themselves to intermittent and then as I drove off again they went to normal speed lol, little things please lol.
  17. After my OH going on about this thing called Terraclean I gave in and let him have his own way and allowed him to book the car in to have a "car colonic irrigation". Mechanic was very surprised at the omission print out before the procedure was started, considering my car is 11 years old and has 127k my emission reading was either 0 or 0.1. Anyway OH agreed he still wanted this carried out, the procedure was about 40 mins and a quarter tank of fuel was used -shock horror!!!!!! £148 later my car was rid of any nasty carbon deposits residing in the depths of the engine. So 1 week on have I seen a difference? Yes, an increase in mpg. My £60 fill up last Thursday still shows quarter of a tank and I'm on 160miles since last fill, previous week £60 lasted me 145miles. My computer showing 21.4 around town, ill keep you undated. Here's the link to terraclean, for those whom not heard of it before: http://www.terraclean.co.uk/
  18. Hello :) - they are in my garage at present not sure what OH is planning to do with them, ill find out. Yes think the car been standing since sept 2012 and the boot does seem bit on damp side tbh. If I select auto the A/C comes on does this mean more fuel? thanks
  19. Oh right so it was their one! that came on their website the day after we brought ours and would have snapped it up if we had known!!! Quirks have a very good reputation here, I test drove a silver one and a bmw from there the weekend before I brought mine, but made silly mistake in dilly dallying over laying a deposit and then went back few days later to find it sold!! Obviously was meant to be a Montrose blue owner lol :)
  20. We wondered if you had just picked the car up from quirks dealership on the a127 as they had one identical up for sale the last couple weeks.
  21. Oh and forgot to say my numberplate is now through and on the car - went for range rover size back plate which fills the whole plate area - was advised this at the numberplate centre and I'm glad coz it looks very nice a bit bigger also had a slightly larger gap between the words MAX and the last four digits - should add MAX is both my OH and my sons name, we brought the plate when he was born and he will inherit on his 18th birthday! Everyone gets confused and thinks I'm Maxine though ha ha.
  22. Shame your not more local to here coz we have found a diamond place that specialises in lexus and very resonable in prices - £55 hour labour.
  23. I too have disabled to tyre sensors, will just be regularly inspecting and watching for low pressure.
