  1. Hey! Long story short I recently went to the local garage to have my brakes checked due to excessive brake squeak, I was told the discs are below 30mm (27.9mm they were at) which apparently is bad and was also the cause to the unbearable squeak that keeps occurring. So I need some new discs and pads, got a quote and it looked a little high (I'd been doing some research for my IS before hand). I was quoted £70 per front disc, bare in mind they're Flat Brembo Ventilated 296mm discs, but on ebay for both front left & right they're only £100 for the two: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FRONT-Brembo-Brake-Discs-Lexus-IS-200-Saloon-GXE10-1999-2011-/270930900015?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Car+Make%3ALexus&hash=item3f14bd742f So is worth my time getting some of these, for an additional £20 or so! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LEXUS-IS200-IS300-1999-2005-BREMBO-DRILLED-GROOVED-FRONT-BRAKE-DISC-/330352480209?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4cea8acfd1 or http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LEXUS-IS200-BREMBO-FRONT-DRILLED-GROOVED-BRAKE-DISC-/270431412935?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3ef6f7e2c7 Would just like to know peoples thoughts! and advice.. P.S. I have Brembo pads & calipers, so would I be needing a new set of these (I was advised to) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FRONT-Brembo-Brake-Pads-Lexus-IS-200-Saloon-GXE10-1999-2011-/270922147136?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Car+Make%3ALexus&hash=item3f1437e540
  2. YES BEN! Thanks dude, I just have one question about the last few images, am I right in thinking the wiring goes like this, as I am a little confused: Red / Black > White Box > Black Cable > Crimp > Fuse (Which one?) > Crimp > LEDs < Black Cable to Ignition Light Blue / Yellow > White Box > Black Cable > Crimp > LEDs < Black Cable to Ignition Light That's the simplest way I could think of writing that, lol...but is that right? Also what inline fuse will I need? as you said you might not need it but I too am looking to install some more. Thanks again Ben!
  3. You followed ben's guide? or do it by yourself? I still cannot find the guide :(
  4. When I had the bought the car it had Bosch wipers on, so I can only assume they were replaced. Alright I'll take a look at finding some PIAA ones, cheers for the help! :)
  5. Hey! So it's come to my attention that I'm in need of some new windscreen wipers, I've heard here and there that the Bosch ones are rubbish, so can anybody guide me in the right direction for some half decent ones? If you could leave links to some that would be great! Cheers Jon
  6. Okay so I never really new about this and whether or not it's a problem but last night around 9pm me and a friend went to get some food from a local superstore, came out, loaded the cars with shopping and started up our engines, my mate left his driver side window open a bit (Silly ****) and said what's that rattling noise coming from your engine? That said once it's been running all is well...and since he said that I'm hearing it all the time on startup lol and is a little worrying! Anyone experienced this?
  7. Alright! So basically... 1. Remove lower trim (3 Screws, un-attach electrics and pull off) 2. Unscrew Ignition barrel (I haven't actually seen what's inside) 3. My LED strips are already placed as I have temporally wired them to the cigarette lighter lol! 4. Guide Red & Black cables up through to the ignition barrel 5. Connect both red together and both black together? 6. Connect the red wires to the same source as the Red/White? and the Black to the Blue/Yellow? 7. Put everything back together and bobs your uncle? Is that right? If not, do you reckon you could write up a small tutorial with guidance photos, I think not only would it assist me in doing this right! But also a lot of other people that might think of have thought about doing this! All the other tutorials over the net are dead :( And no longer have access to the imagery Cheers Jon
  8. Nice dude! I'm looking to put some matching white smd strips underneath the front seats for the rear passengers! But just need to know how to cable this all up properly before i start! :) How would you go about doing door handle lights?
  9. haha awesome! Seems I'm not the only one, let's hope we do get some guidance :D
  10. Alright so as the title states I'm looking for some guidance on doing this properly, I have found a couple of tutorials but due to their age the pictures no longer work and since the pictures play a vital part in the tutorial they are pretty much useless. So.. What's the best way to go about this? I would like to install some white LED SMD footwells that match the ignition ring light and back seat roof light when switched to door mode (Fade out when Ignition starts) Is it as simple as this: 1. Remove trim 2. Unscrew Ignition 3. Wire foot wells to the same circuit as the ignition ring I have no experience with electrics so I do not want to make a rookie move and blow the entire electrics in the car. Any help would be much appreciated! Jon
  11. Hi guys, So basically my headlights are not aligned with my front bumper, water seeps down under the driver side headlight and I'm not entirely sure what to do, any help or guidance is appreciated!
  12. Alright! Sounds to good to be true but I'll give it a go! Will any colgate paste do? as that's all I got aha
  13. Hey dude! Cheers for the reply, what steps would I need to take to go about doing this well! :)
  14. Hi, I'm looking for a decent pair of IS200 Headlights, preferably without the yellow/hazed and scratches along the plastic lens covers, mine are on there way out and am in need of some replacements so the front of my machine looks good again! If you have any for sale that are in a decent state please leave a reply or drop me a PM. Thanks in advance! Jon
  15. Hi, I own a Lexus IS200 Sport (2001) with 120,000 miles on the clock, todays temperatures outside have been up and down and I've only drove about 30-40 miles. Anyways this problem I've encountered is not when the car is moving, but when the car is stationary. When I stopped to drop my partner off earlier this evening, I left the engine running, but then decided to turn it off. After about 5 seconds I decided to turn it back on however, it wouldn't start....this is a first. I then left it for 10 seconds to give it another go and it decided to start after about 2-3 seconds of (whatever you call it when the ignition is trying to start the motor). When I got home I decided to give this is another go, as I parked on my drive, turned the engine off and waited for all of about 5 seconds I turned the key and again within 2-3 seconds it decided to start, turned it off, waited again and second time round it started after about 4-5 seconds but it sort of choked and had a little cough (best way to describe it) as it started, this is kinda worrying me as I'm not quite sure what the problem may be. It had it's MOT 2 weeks and had a flawless pass, battery is only 2-3 month old as well, so I don't think it would be that. That all said is there anyone out there that can assist/help me with guidance in the right direction to the problem! If there is one...it feels like there is one! :( Cheers Jon
