  1. Its not the fault that is the issue. Its weather i can drive with out it. The mechanic said to change the sensor he needs to remove the manifolds etc.. but due to wear and tear of the metal manifolds plus pipe and threads which he said are not in the best of condition removing could cause issues and further damage ao he would need to replace these parts.

He said its fine to drive and to come back next year? ?

  2. Hi my engine light came on and the AA told me it was p0135 and o2 heated circuit bank 1 sensor 1.

I took it to my local garage who always repairs all my cars. He advised me that if he replaced the sensor the other sensors would need to be replaced plus the exhaust. He said he would have to remove the manifolds and he was worried doing this due to the age of the car (is 200 2003 160k miles) would disturb the system and sensors . He quoted around 1000 pounds and said that it would be best to leave it. He said I would only save 50 pounds a year on fuel. He advised me the car would be fine and it'd not really important.

Is this true and secondly if the heated part malfunctioned which allows the sensor to heat quicker does the sensor still work??

    Thanks

  3. I have a lexus is200 se. My issue is with my power steering fluid. In the power steering pump I have fluid in there however this is quiet below the minimum cold line. When I top up my power steering fluid to the desired level (between the min and Max cold line), turned the engine on And checked the fluid about 5 seconds later the additional fluid i added was gone from the reservoir . The strange thing is that I only loose the additional fluid that I put in, the fluid that was already there before I topped up remains at the same level always. There is never any change to the amount of fluid that was in there before.

Does any one have any idea whats happening? I would expect to loose all the fluid but i only loose the fluid I top up ?

  4. Hi guys,

My left tyre on my lexus is200 has recently began squealing whenever I turn it. The sound sounds like a rubbing noise, or like when you walk on a creaky floorboard. It only happens when I turn, not at a slight turn, for example when I go to park in a bay or turn a corner.

When I am driving the car normally in a straight line, there is no noise what so ever. I have enough PS and there's enough air in the tyre to.

The problem occurred after I pumped the tyres 2 days ago and began driving the car, it was quiet a hot day as well.

Does any one know what might be causing the issue? Just to be aware I replaced the tyre in question a few months ago.

    thanks

  5. I topped up my power steering fluid between the Max & min cold mark When the car was cold. I checked it twice after I Drove It when it was cold and Noticed that the fluid is now on the cold min mark. I think possibly the last time the fluid was topped up was when the car was serviced about a month ago or a month and a half when purchased. when I checked the fluid for The First Time since I Had the Car before topping it up although low I could still see fluid in the tank. Is it leaking, if so if it hasn't been checked for a month surely the tank would of been empty or is this normal operation. it's a lexus 200

  6. Hi Guys this may be a stupid question, but I need to top up my power steering fluid for my is200 manual gear box.

I went to Halfords and they checked on the system and said it that PSF was recommended for my car but the manual i think is saying to use ATF 2/3.

Which is the correct fluid I need to top up my power steering, thanks???

  7. Hi Guys, I dont know if this is the correct place to post so appolgies if wrong.

I recently brought a Lexus is200 se and was checking the coolant the other day.

I noticed that the see through resevoir tank was not showing any liquid which was

strange as i thought the engine would over heat. I undone the black resevoir cap

and filled with some coolant containing ethyl glycerol and could then see red liquid

rising through the transparent tank. I filled it nearly half way. The next day when I came

to check in the morning I could not again see any liquid in the transparent tank.

I started to fill some more coolant in and it showed it begin to fill as above.

My question is where is this coolant going and if it is disspearing why is the

engine not overheating. I am guessing their is something seperate for it as there

is a silver engine coolant cap aswell.

    Thanks much appreciated.
