Yeah i know what your saying normski, it has its useful features but to be honest i wont use it an awful lot i mainly wanted to get it sorted for cosmetic reasons, when i brought the car it was a right mess but that didn't bother me as i could see potential, i picked it up for peanuts and so far have put a new bonnet on repaired and resprayed front n back bumpers picked up a new key whitch i need to reprogram at some point and just stereo left to sort out . Anything possible with a little tlc ;)

Haha normski , u should of seen the state of the car when i brought it , it was a mess , previous owner was obviously not much of a pround lexus owner! Ok so here's the situation, I did as chris suggested and grabbed a cd lens cleaner from a mate of mine , popped it in the cd romran it a couple of times gave the maps cd another good clean popped it back in and my navigation is now WORKING again !!! Am proper chuffed ! A massive thanx to chris for the suggestion , u are a star and thanx to everyone else who's helped me with some great advice , u guys are awesome! ;)

In serious need of a navigation cd rom for my 1999 is200 , if anyone has a spare for sale or knows where i can get one that would be amazing! Cheers good people , hope someone can help me out

Ok so my navigation screen just says please open door, please check cd rom , worked fine yesterday but thid morning it says this, some good people on here told me to eject cd and give it a clean but have done this and no change , im gutted to be honest snd just want to get this sorted but i reslly dont know what to fo now , im guessing a new unit is only option ?? Any help or advice please ir better yet anyone selling a unit :(

Thanx for help guys , have ejected and given cd a good clean popped it back in and still says the same thing , so annoying, really not sure what to do now ! Worked fine up untill now so just dont understand, guess i need a new unit but cant find one anywhere at the moment :(

ok so am pretty annoyed as seems like my navigation has decided to stop working this morning , was absolutely fine yesterday but now says please open door , please check cd rom , so i have located cd rom with help from some good people on here , ejected cd gave it a good clean popped it back in and still says same thing ! Really dont know what to do now ! Will i need to replace the unit/computer ? I have the cd rom version and not the dvd version and have looked around but found nothing , any ideas or advice please or even better anyone have a unit to sell or know where i can pick one up? Ok so removed cd gave it a good clean then put it bk in with my fingers crossed but unfortunately it still saying please open door, please check cd rom ...... Seriously annoying as dont understand how can work fine yesterday and suddenly not work today! Just weird! Well not sure what to do now to be honest , do i need to look for a new cd rom unit ? Guessing that wont be cheap :(

Thanx bud, will take a look soon as i get 5 mins, yeah the navigation does rhe job for me too hence the reason im desperate to keep it working! Has bn absolutely fine up untill this morning so seriously hope its just a dirty cd otherwise i guess ill be looking for a new unit ! I guess ours is the cd rom unit and not the dvd version ive heard others talking about ? Well i will clean disc later n let you know how it goes bud ;)

Ok i guess that doesn't really matter as its more for cosmetic purposes really , so do i use this along with the amp bypass lead yeah? Where exactly are the tx wires located and is it easy to connect? Thanx

Thanx ian u are a star! Was debating the whole leave in factory stereo and just get a grom but like the idea of having a newer looking stereo as well as makes it look a little nicer , i'll give this a whirl when i get chance and will let u know how it go's bud, really appreciate your help! ;)

PLEASE HELP!!! Hi guys , so i have recently picked up my first is200 1999 sport its in great condition and i love it but i do have an issue that i need some help with, the stereo/cd changer in it does not work and i would ideally like to replace it with an aftermarket double din stereo of some sort but i have read on here that there is a chance if i do this my navigation screen will stop working, please does anyone know a way around this issue as i really want to keep the navigation working along with a aftermarket stereo, im sure that people would have had this same issue plenty of times before so if anyone can guide me through this or tell me what i need it would be massively appreciated as at the mo i have no clue , seriously any help would be great !!! Hi all have just picked up a 1999 is200 sport, the car is great and i love it but i have a problem with the stereo, The stereo in the car id not currently working so I have brought a replacement lexus stereo/cd changer to go in, should have been a straight forward switch over but when going to do this I noticed that someone has at sompoint cut the plugs off that connect into back of stereo and have then tried to reconnect them but obviously haven't done so properly as I havr no power coming through the stereo, I am desperate to get this sorted out and all I need to know is whitch wires connect to whitch, if anyone would be kind enough to upload a detailed photo or similar so that I can see what I need to do it would be massively appreciated!!! Any help would be great as im sure someone on here has had a similar problem . Thanks ;)
