  1. To come back to the original issue, I had an RX400H for 5 years and got 31 mpg from it. I now have an RX450H and have averaged 32 mpg over 25,000 miles, but can get 37 mpg through a tankful by using ECO mode and being ultra gentle on the right foot, that will be a mix of rural and motorway driving. I haven't tried the surge and cruise technique and I don't turn off the aircon or anything like that. Hope that helps.
  2. I had a 400H for 5 years, did 80,000 miles and had this problem all the time. I had the geometry checked regularly, but it didn't make any difference, in the end I had the tyres swapped front to back after about 13,000 miles to even them out and that seemed to get some extra life out of them. Don't know if the experts would recommend it or not. I now have a 450H and don't get the problem at all, so I don't think it was my driving!.
  3. I had my 400H for 5 years and did 80,000 miles averaging 31 mpg. Now my 450H is up to 25,000 and has averaged 33mpg. Recently I've been entertaining myself be being ultra gentle on the right foot and am getting 36 - 37 mpg on mixed rural and motorway driving. Maybe it's something to do with being in Sussex, but I also have had remarkable reliability, with nothing other than a standard service on either car. I've also found Lexus Guildford very good, so was Brighton, shame they closed as Guildford is quite a bit further away.
  4. Polarised sunglasses solve the problem 100%. I keep a prescription pair in the glove box and pop them on the moment the sun comes out. I've done the same in every car for donkey's years.
