  7. Just a quick update so my local mechanic has quoted me 325.00 to replace the belt I'm just in the frame of mind to leave it now as I only do 2500 miles a year the car is not a daily driver but I do want to ask the question why do manufacturers use belts and not chains as this kind of maintenance is very expensive not happy
  8. Going to bite the bullet and get it done my mechnic at my local garage asked me if the water pump was driven off the cam belt I looked and I said I don' think so. So it' just the belt and tensioners could have done without the expense but I don' want my car to die I'll wait back to hear from him thank you for your messages on this everyone
  9. Hi to all is200 owners not sure where I'm surpose to post. 10. That's good to know eddiea1 definitely no cracks I'm careful driving the roads are terrible round here I have to swerve about to avoid pot holes im only considering getting rid as I prefer the smoother ride from the 17s I may keep them yet but good to know they can be fixed if they do ever get damaged
  11. Replying to the previous post im not trying to sell on here I don't want telling off. And yes I know these wheels are fragile the inside of the rims buckle easier than most mine luckily are sound but thanks for your info ill check out some sites to sell.
  12. Hi everyone been a while since I was last on. I was wondering if anyone knows how much my is200 aero alloys are worth? Please don't turn this into a selling thread. The quickest way to find out how much things are worth is to look at the various selling sites on the internet.

  14. Ok quick update just picked up the new ball joint and yes it looks like the right part but has a small bolt in the side which seems like a grease hole if removed so do I just put it straight on or does it need grease putting in? The part is made be blue print
  15. Ok Dave will do. will probably be end of next month as got far to much on at moment. Ill message you next month thanks again for offering to help out.
  16. Thanks again everyone for all the advice. So as I said my friend is doing my ball joint for me only reason he can't do bearing is has no press so leaving it till end of next month but for now ill just concentrate on ball joint.reading Dave s post would possibly consider driving out that way and seeing him about it.
  17. Ok thanks chris ill get the ball joint done asap as im going away next month a 400 mile round trip so don't want the ball joint failing on me but bearing might have to wait I have a friend who is happy to do ball joint just not wheel bearing but the ball joint is more urgent thanks for you advise.
  18. Hello everyone I recently had my mot and advisories were osf wheel bearing and nsf lower ball joint the garage which motd the car can't do repair. I have asked local garages even lexus themselves which wanted near to a grand to do it.but every garage I ask as soon as I say its a lexus they all go ooooo expensive maybe they are hearing rolls royce plus none of my local garages know how to do the work as have never worked on one.are they really this complicated to fix somone has saidyou nneed a hydraulic press as I was going to see if I could do it myself but im not confident enough. I think ill just have to leave it and when in next fails mot leave it off road as im getting stressed out with the whole thing. My car is a 2004 is200 sport any advice please.
  19. I don't hate the 17s just the fact that the 5 spoke corrode so bad and then makes the car look tatty so I just went all out got 5 aero alloys and I never scrimp on safety so for me I put on Michelin pilot sport 3 were not to bad a price but I had to get 2 of my aeros straighten but all good just a bit of vibration under braking but I can live with that.
  20. I think ill go for that option then as ill be getting all four for the same money.just wondering what is the difference then between eibach springs and eibach pro springs?either way happy to go ahead and get them
  21. Ok not to happy not having much luck on ebay or maybe its just me.tried local after market places ek brakes etc only list one spring for the whole is range and its gonna cost around 250.00 ish for both front springs from my nearest lexus dealer not sure what to do been looking at the posts on here abou eibach springs but I once lowered a bmw I had by 60mm front and 40 rear and the ride was awfull anyone have some suggestions as I dont have alot to spend
