The maintenance on 190s is non-existent, really. They don't fail so much as degrade over decades and decades. Service items cost as service items cost, only thing to watch for is rust and anything that needs the timing chain or the head fiddled with, that's where the money is. If you buy a 16v, assume there is no metal left under the bodykit.
My insurance is absolutely ludicrous, since you asked. But I wouldn't drive crap :) I used to drive a mark 5 Escort, so I've had my fill of crap.
