  1. Happy Birthday bargefan77!

  2. That is the one I have, Surely people don`t pay that much for old car mags, If they do I could be on my way to retiring early.
  3. You could try take a picture of the article and upload it I took a photo of the article on my phone, I then emailed it to myself then saved it, but when I try to post an image using the jpeg box all that appears is a little green box, I am probably doing several things wrong but as I said when it comes to technology I am totally useless.
  4. The askmid site is good I didn`t know about that thanks for the link. Unfortunately it doesn`t look like anybody on here owns the car, It`s interesting looking back at the article and seeing the list price of £49,999 It just goes to show what incredible value these cars are today, I wish I knew how to get the article up on here for others to read but with no scanner and being technologically challenged i don`t think I will be able to.
  5. Hi everyone, I was looking at an old copy of Autocar magazine dated 31st May 2000, and I stumbled upon a Lexus Ls400 which was featured in the long term test section, the car was almost exactly the same as mine except for the wood on the steering wheel which mine doesn`t have, And It had me wondering if the car now belongs to anyone on here, registration number was V210FPN. Unsurprisingly the car received a glowing report.
  6. Thanks Mark, yes definitely bought a good one, i can imagine even a slightly ropey one would still be nice to drive, but getting one that`s been really well cared for and that drives how it probably did when it was new, is just fantastic, I was going to polish it Today but after looking at the paintwork it was pointless, just removed the many bugs from the front end collected during the long drive home. as for Keith a nicer bloke you couldn`t hope to meet.
  7. Many congratulations John, on buying Keith's car. You convey the joys of owning one of these cars very accurately and succinctly. I followed this thread with great interest from the very beginning until this happy outcome. This is because one day I might have to sell one of my immaculate LS 400s simply because I don't have the garage space. This thread shows how the Club and its members help one another and hopefully enable the remaining LS 400s to end up in the right hands. Well done Keith and John Pepe Thanks pepe, after I decided that I wanted an LS, I browsed this forum as a guest for a few weeks and found some great information, but what struck me most was that everyone seemed very friendly and that it was a forum without any of the slightly condescending comments which seem to be obligatory on most forums sadly, I joined the day I spotted Keith`s car for sale and after speaking to him on the telephone the next night, I knew I had found the car for me. I could have paid the same money from a dealer but I also knew their was no way I would be dealing with someone as honest in his description as Keith, and just as importantly for me someone as passionate about their car, that`s why I would thoroughly recommend to anyone looking to buy a Lexus to make this their first port of call, and it`s why if you ever have to sell one of your cars Pepe, you won`t have any trouble selling, well maybe some trouble emotionally but finding a buyer will be simple, because people are always on the lookout for cars which are owned by people with a passion for their cars.
  8. Hello to everyone, I`m the lucky man that has purchased Keith`s car, and I will start by saying it was an absolute pleasure to deal with Keith the man is a total gentleman and has obviously spent a lot of time, effort and money on his pride and joy, I feel under a bit of pressure to try and maintain it to his high standards but I will try. As for the LS400 experience what a car, simply sublime, I glided home in more time than it should really have taken me as I was soaking up the experience of driving such a lovely car, it`s difficult to comprehend the sheer value for money these cars offer. And finally to Keith I hope your health improves and you are back were you belong behind the wheel of a Lexus.
  9. Thanks for the welcome guys, to be honest with my current car it was mostly wear and tear items that i would expect to change, maybe not all at the one time but that was my own fault for buying one of the cheaper cars on sale at the time on impulse, and now i yhink i have vanos problems, I`ve been looking at a few cars on ebay and autotrader this week and this example appears to be one of the better ones, it would probably be a toss up between this and the one on sale from cc cars which looks nice, I also seen one on sale from a company called lakeview cars but no mention of the timing belt etc being done.
  10. Hi, i`ve just joined the forum, and i`m sorry if I`ve broken any rules, as I don`t yet own a Lexus, but I`am in the market for an LS400, what I can`t yet decide is (and this is were i need some advice) would it be best to buy something like the car for sale here, which looks a lovely example or something under a grand as a winter runabout and hope that it gets me to the summer or beyond, I`am currently driving a BMW 330ci which i paid £2900 for 18 months ago and spent a further £2000 pounds on in January, and since then have done another 1500 miles in and with the amount of problems I`ve had since I would probably have to spend the same again soon which I`am not prepared to do, as the car is probably worth £700, any advice from you chaps with experience of the LS would be most appreciated. apologies to the op if I`m off topic, although this may be a car i could be interested in.
