  1. Cheers boss. I just called up Toyota, explained what I wanted, and they have it in stock for me today. 46 bloody quid for a seal! Oh well.
  2. hi guys, does anyone have a part number for the rear crank seal on a 95 ls400? its the seal behind the plate around the output shaft. mine is leaking oil really badly. thanks
  3. i have a 95 ls400 that i want to give a service. i have a genuine toyota air, fuel and oil filter, but am not sure what spark plugs to get. i saw some NGK iridium ones on the bay, for £60 odd quid, and some Bosch super 4 ones for £42. i dont mind spending the money, but are the iridium ones worth the extra £20? also what is the suggested oil to use? and how much would i need? thanks in advance
  4. Hey Ruud, really sux that you had to go through that. It was me that bought the car. i paid a deposit, but through paypal and in such a way that i could try and claim it back if the car was a total POS. i really just wanted it for the engine. not sure if this will ease the pain a bit, but, the exhaust is rotten with bodged repairs. the passenger window does not work, there is a intermittent fault with the drivers window and the car smokes a wee bit when applying throttle.its bogging inside and smells badly of smoke. front wheel alignment is out and the ds wheel is bald. not the type of things you want if you wanted to hold on to the car, which i did once i drove it home. but after looking over it propperly, it just issint feasable to do unless you were a die hard fan the sellers tho are a totally genuine couple that never intended for this to happen. the guy phoned me when you purchased it to ask my advice. i told him that you pressed the BIN button, and therefore you should get it. he said that i paid the deposit first and will respect that i was first in line to buy it, which i did. hope you track down a good car dude, they are out there. unfortunately they dont tend to be in Scotland
  5. replaced the batteries in the fobs again and this time it worked. out of the 2 fobs, only one works. thanks for all the replies and suggestions.
  6. sorry for all the posts, but i think that the alarm fitted is a scorpion 5000 alarm
  7. checked a few threads where people have had similar issues, and what most are saying is that pre 97 lexus diddnt come from the factory with a immobiliser? there is a light on the dashboard marked security, and it is constantly illuminated. the user manual also talks about a imobiliser, so it must be fitted.
  8. Right. I've tried both fobs, and even tho a led on fob flashes when pushing the button, nothing happens to the car. I now have he ignition turned on as alfi has suggested.
  9. im going to try that in a sec. problem is, i only bought the car a week ago, and never needed to use the fob, so actually dont know if it works! got 2 fobs, one needs a battery so will go and buy a battery then try it.
  10. hi there i parked my ls400 on a ramp to weld the exhaust. i disconnected the battery to weld. apon reconnecting the battery, i cannot disable the immobiliser. any one have any advice?
  11. lol, we are now looking for a newer ls400 so that i can still stick this engine into my truck. already spent a fortune on a manual conversion for the 1uz, so i better use it!
  12. Hi there i recently purchased a LS400 just so that i can rip the 1UZ out and stick it in my Hilux, but once i drove the old bird i just cant bring myself to chop it up! its just too nice! it has a few issues like rotten exhaust flanges and the driver window opening when unlocking the car, but ill sort these minor things over the next couple of weeks.
