  1. I don't think that there is a Haynes Manual for the IS200 but can anyone tell me that i'm wrong !?
  2. As the standard unit seems to be 'ERR3'-dead, I'm thinking of taking it out and replacing it with an after-market unit. The issue that I foresee is that the std. unit it 'double-deck', so taller than the replacement unit - how can this be made to look ok? Any suggestions/fotos of what others have done, plse?
  3. Ah, unfortunately the 'disconnect the battery' trick didn't work, so we're back to taking out the duff unit and replacing ..........
  4. Thanks for responses - the YouTube video is most useful, assuming that it will apply to our older 1999 car! (think I'll try that suggestion of a battery dis-connect, as a first "fingers crossed" remedy, tho' not too hopeful really!)
  5. Hum, I feared the worst seeing ERR3 - is it easy enough to get the unit out of the dash?
  6. So two parts to my enquiry - does ERR3 code flashing mean a dead unit or can anyone suggest a fix? We can't seem to put fresh CD's in or eject..................... If the unit is indeed 'dead', how easy is it to get it out? ........then fit an aftermarket unit? All advice welcome!
  7. My son has just got a 1999 IS200 - the stereo will play cassettes ok (whoopee!!) but when we press button for CD section, ERR3 flashes on the screen. We can't seem to feed in a fresh CD and nothing happens when we press the related Eject button - any ideas please? (btw, the radio just puts out static and just hunts for stations on FM band - almost like aerial not connected - again any ideas, plse? - not as important as CD problem tho!)
  8. Yes, I looked in WH Smiths but now gone, sadly.........................................
