  1. Wow that's grim. At least you now know the problem!
  2. Nice one, although shame about the blocked injector. Good luck!
  3. Ah, oh well. May be worth trying the cleaning option first. Or just sell it and buy the IS250 lol
  4. Grim, well it may be worth while trying to get it cleaned, although I have read it has varying success. Maybe worth having a word with these guys http://pandpauto.co.uk/ I have read on various forums good things about them.
  5. My smoking was put down to the air fuel ratio sensor intermittently faulty. It cut power to the MAF sensor and so the ecu injected more fuel, hence the smoke. They only found the problem after an hour and a half live test. Good luck
  6. Please tell me your not going to spend £3500. You may as well sell it for what you can and buy an IS250. Or try the suggested wiring fix
  7. Lexus know all about it, but as the cars are now out of warranty they wont do anything. This engine is a known problem, I guess thats why we don't see it in any other Lexus. And has anyone actually got Lexus to do a live test? Thats the only thing that found my air fuel ratio sensor to be faulty. And also, have you coded the replacement injectors to the ECU?
  8. Hi, I guess it's the lambda sensor, Lexus call it the air fuel ratio sensor. Quite expensive though compared to other lambda sensors! And it wont do any harm to change the MAF. Good luck.
  9. Try getting Lexus to put it on a live test and see if the air fuel ratio sensor is faulty, or intermittently faulty. It was causing problems on mine and was cutting power to the MAF sensor. This was causing it to overfuel and smoke.
  10. Hi hush33 My white smoke problem was put down to the "air fuel ratio sensor" in the exhaust. It intermittently cut power to the MAF and so it injected more fuel. Mine only did the smole thing in winter, or should I say below approx 8 degrees. I no longer have the car so I can't say for sure it fixed it. But it did fix it while on a live test at Lexus. Originally the cars engine tone changed and it also put out a puff of smoke, after the new sensor was fitted it no longer had the symptoms, do I assume a fix. It's not a cheap part, over £300 from memory fitted at Lexus, and of course the hour and a half live test to diagnose the problem. But I have to say, Lexus Bristol were awesome despite not being able to diagnose why my car had a P0093 fault. Although I fixed that myself, lol
  11. Lol, I actually just sold it, guy was so happy with the car he just drove it away, didn't even test drive it! Call me stupid, but I just went back to diesel, needed something with a big boot so I brought an audi allroad 2.5. and loving it :-) Well, until it goes wrong! LOL
  12. Awesome! It passed the MOT And I must say its going very well indeed! Engine feels better than I can ever remember Any one wanna buy an IS220 ? Lol
  13. Well I have done it at last! Have had to much else going on. But all done now. Took me a while to figure out the number sequence, but all good. MOT this afternoon, wish me luck.
  14. Awesome, any chance you could let me know how you did the programming? I have the TIS thing
  15. Hi, interesting theory. I have read somewhere else the same thing and it was a wiring fault from memory. I also posted pics from my techstream, they are on the first page of my post. See what you think. Although all readings were when the car was stationary but I guess it's also showing stored data from when I was driving. Would be interested to get your feedback.
  16. Just thought, your supposed to get Lexus to program them to the brain. No idea if it's makes any difference if you do or dont. Mine still needs doing.
  17. Hellooo, I got it from " midlands auto spares ltd - 0121 558 3576 " Allegedly from a 2008 car. But be careful. The first one they sent me leaked as much as mine did! The second one was fine. So be sure they send you a good one first time. I don't think they do a leakdown test on them, so like me, it could be a bit of a lottery. But they give a 3 month warranty and it was no problem getting them to send another. Just a pain and a waste of time. Good luck.
  18. Indeed I did, clear conscience Even warned him of Lexus dealer and parts prices. Having said that, he hasn't come back with the money yet Time will tell...
  19. Hi all, Well it's been a while, but finally got a good second hand injector. Fitted it last week and so far all seems good! Starts first time every time, and not once has it gone into limp mode :-) I was toying with the idea of keeping it, but I bumped into an old neighbor and he really wants the car. Crazy man. I did explain all their problems but he still wants it. So MOT next week and as soon as he comes up with the money, its' gone! I will keep in touch if anything develops. Good luck guys!
  20. Disconnecting the battery just resets the ECU, and as you drive afterwards it then learns again so the fault comes back. Over time I suspect the fault will come back quicker and quicker though. But keep in touch and let us know how things are going.
  21. Indeed high pressure, but only on the inlet side. Really quite low pressure on the return. Well when I say return, it's the diesel that leaks internally in the injector that returns to the tank. As you can see from my pics, No.2 is leaking somewhat more than it should . Hence P0093 fuel leak large! I believe in general, they should not leak more than 40ml in one minute from start up. Injector 1, 3 and 4 are within that limit. I did take pics but my phone camera is playing up and didn't save the images, grrrrr. I will try and do some sort of walk through in the near future. I haven't got the money spare at the moment as I have sunk all I have into my new garage. So the new injector will have to wait a few weeks unless someone is feeling extremely generous. Actually my brother owes me money Well lets see what happens...
  22. No codes? Well it might be worth taking it to Lexus and getting them to do a "live" test. It took them an hour and a half to see that my air fuel sensor was intermittently cutting power to the MAF sensor. When this happened the engine note changed and a puff of smoke came out. Its an expensive item so may be best to get it diagnosed properly. Cost me around £300 fitted. And as with you, it only happens around town. Bristol Lexus are very familiar with my car so they may well be able to diagnose yours quicker now they know what to look for.
  23. Lol, well thanks for saying impressive. But in reality it's just 4 empty water bottles with insulation tape holding them together. And 4, 6mm clear pieces of tubing. Each one going to the return hole out of each injector. I also wrapped the insulation tape around the end of each tube to increase diameter so that I could sort of screw them into the outlet holes in the injectors. I think 8mm tube would be best. Although a bit heath robinson, the test worked well Must say a big thanks to mackemade for his advice on doing the leakdown test. Also can anyone confirm if the video worked or not?
  24. Here is a not very good video of it happening, but it really shows how fast No.2 fills up in real time. WP_20160501_12_17_22_Pro.mp4
