Thanks alot DHS. I was reading a newspaper recently about travelling to Europe and the problems you can get into. There is supposed to be some useful information about this at the RAC website. I think it is www.rac.co.uk. I will definately read it up. Dont want any hitch to spoil the fun i hope to have. Thanks very much for the infomation. I contacted Lexus and they should be sending me the CD for spain(on loan), you have to give your details and credit card but there will be no charge when you return them. The weather is quite hot over there and so I cant wait to get going.

Lexus may have got the first foot in the door before the rest of them. As I can easily spend £60 per week (7 days) on petrol and i know I could invest this money somewhere else, i will be waiting to see what the Hybrids have to offer. ← And just ot add, it is not just the fuel consumption but your GS 300 will perform like the GS430 V8. I am sure if petrol was alot cheaper most of us would be buying the GS 430 rather than the 300. So now you would be able to save petrol and have a faster car. 0 - 60mph in under 6 seconds. i would look forward to that.

That is true but if the fuel consumption is as they say you will be laughing everytime you go to fill up, which should not be that often. I carried my MK II GS 300 in for body repair once and they gave me a Yaris. No comparison to a GS 300 but I could not see the petrol gauge going down and the bills in my pocket stayed there for an entire week. I had to rush Lexus to give me back my car before i got used to the savings on petrol. If I can get the performance of a V8 with the consumption of a 2 litre 4 cylinder engine, I would probably do what the bloke did in the Passat advert, picked up hitchikers and took them wherever they were going just for the sake of it.

Hi guys/girls, I have wanted to buy the new Gs 300 when a sports version comes up for sale. i would have to wait a couple more months for a 2nd hand version to come on the market, but now I have heard about the GS 450 HYBRId. From what I have read I feel really sorry for those who have now purchased the 2005 GS. My best friedn has my sympathies. The GS 300 HYBRID according to the article will burn the same amount of petrol as a 2 litre family car, but have the peformance of the GS 430 V8. If that is the case I am happy to wait for that to hit the road. It means increased performnace with lower fuel consumption. those two things never went together before. does anyone feel the same having read the article.

I bought them from the lexus dealer, think they costs about £155 with the gold members discount. I am planning to go to france in the week beginning 20th June 2005 only for the week. If that time is not clashing with your travel arrangements then yes you can borrow them. It may also be possible to copy it but perhaps I shoudl not say that over the forum. Hmmmm, sound like a Very Valid reason to insist on Lexus, Thanks for that :D ← I had someone hit the back of my lexus, their insurance compnay wrote to me about their approved repairers. You cannot trust them. I just went to Lexus got a quote, fowarded it to the insurance company and also arranged for a like for like replacement car whilst mine was being fixed. I will only make the main dealer work on my car. There are not alot of lexus around and many garages had never had teh experience of working on them.

Lexus will lend you one for free - the number to phone is on their website if you look hard enough i seem to remember. ← There is no European Sat Nav CD. The CD based sat Nav cannot store as much information as the DVD based Sat Nav. I purchased the disc for France and ended up with about 4 or 5 separate disc depending on the region. The disc you would oput in the vehicle is the one that contains the most details of your destination rather than your point of departure. You will also nbeed separate discs for Spain. Good luck with your touring, that is when the GS 300 really comes to life

Are you looking to take out the old amp and put in a new one or leave the old one in there and put another one in the boot?

When can you start? ...and on the subject of the Sport model, can you tell me what the GS430 is missing that would make it a 'sport', other than a badge? ← It should have a badge and mesh front grill, a slightly different bumper, probably 19 or 20" rims, different exhausts, different spoilers. I cant change my sports for one of those lexuses and i really do like them but i would not want ot buy a brand new car or even a 2nd hand version and start to mess about with it. Furthermore it might invalidate some of teh warranty to be changing things on the car. They need a sport I woudl love to buy a sport and I would like the choice of the sport being avalibale in the 3 litre as well.

I went and saw the GS 300 at Jemca Edgware Roadon the launch day. The car is nice but I currently drive the GS 300 sport and as a 30 somehting year old, I do like something that looks sporty. In the past I have bought cars that I have had to add something to it to get it to look diffrent/sporty. I do not want a Lexus that looks like every other lexus and whilst BMW as the M sport division and Mercedes has AMG, Lexus is shooting itself in the foot not to offer a sport version. I really do not feel like getting rid of my sports to get a normal Lexus. In the past Lexus has been criticised as having an old man look, but with the sports alhtough the engine etc.. has not being changed it has been hard for people to put that criticism at me. In addition my freind who has an 02 Lexus SE always looked at my older MK II sport and felt somehting was missing from his. If a sport edition had been available i owuld be discussing finances and not if or when I would get one. I would hate to get rid of my sports and drive the new one and see someone pass with a sport and I have to look at it. I dearly wish a sport version to come out otherwise when I am chnaging my car it may not be a Lexus that i buy and i do not want to go there.

I have been in the states and seen them. They always draw my attention but it has not caught on here as yet. But I hope to be a pioneer in it.

Yep it is a 1999 GS Sport with Sat Nav and HID lights, comes already lowered. Bought it 2 years ago with only 11,000 geniune miles. It now has 27,000 miles.

I got the boot badge for the lexus and stuck it on the fuel flap. The rims i think look better without the spinners when it is parked but once you start to drive it with the spinnesr on it becomes really crazy. UKDentonGS300

My Black GS 300 will blow that away but I cant seem to get my pictures up on the forum. I know that what I have done with my car will give the UK Lexus owners something to be proud about and make some of the US lexus owners think harder.
