  1. Steve, I have a Luxury spec, with nav and full leather spec (heated and ventilated seats.....already showing the benefit with the temperatures in the high teens over the weekend). I an going purely on the onboard computer, and have not independently verified it. I am afraid I am not one for logging every time I fuel up, as it will not change the way i drive knowing that one particular fill up gave me 0.3mpg more than another.......Work on the assumption that the onboard computer is as about accurate as every other manufacturers', and as a gauge, was getting about 49mpg from a Astra 1.7CDTi that I had on hire beforehand, 41mpg from a hired Astra 1.6 before that, and about 50 mpg from my company Passat 2.0 TDi that I had before that. None of these, however, had the power, the poise, the plushness, the specification, and more importantly the fantastically low company car BIK level that the IS has.
  2. Have been running mine now for 6 weeks, and having covered just over 5,800 miles, most of which on motorways or dual carrriageways, I am currently averaging about 43.5 mpg, which the car tells me gives me about 570 miles range when I have fully filled the car at the petrol station. I have had the mpg over 44, but this falls back very quickly with spirited driving, and takes a lot of more calm and considered (i.e. 65mph) driving to get this back up again. As far I can see, the consumption does not seem to alter much if I am in the car on my own, or five up with the family onboard.
  3. I agree Ian, when I ordered my Luxury (with complementary Nav and heated and ventilated leather seats) I enquired to what paint / leather colour ways were available for immediate delivery, and in all the cases I asked about there were vehicles available within a couple of weeks. Lexus are obviously pushing the SE and Luxury specs at the moment and have pre - ordered on a large scale. Have now done 500 miles since Wednesday and loving every minute of it, in spite of the awful weather. Even better, the other half also likes it, noting the comfort of the seats and the quality of the sound system (standard set up - ML not available on Luxury). Have noticed quite a few admiring looks plus at least one startled look when pedestrian started to step out onto roadway at supermarket car park without looking - obviously did not hear the car as it was in EV - need to be aware of this!
  4. Nice to find out that folding mirrors are included.....thought these only came with Premier spec.
  5. Yet another satisified new IS300h driver.........car collected this afternoon from Lexus Bristol (thanks to David, Richard and all the rest of the staff there for the very smooth process). Weather not the best for good photos, but see below for internal piccie (full electric seats in Ivory Leather with Celestial Black paint) I have got a nice drive from Glastonbury to Bicester and back tomorrow, so will be able to provide more feedback and a proper view afterwards
  6. Let's see if Lexus Bristol can beat that....will let you know later. Car looks fab Bridgy even though red not my colour. try not to get it too wet today!!
  7. Normal day at work unfortunately, with meetings in morning and early afternoon, so have to wait until about 4th. At least will be able to enjoy fume free driving through Bristol rush hour traffic!! I can then hit A303 and A34 first thing Thursday morning & glide past Stonehenge serenely and maybe silently!
  8. Bridgy, as with you, collect my new car tomorrow. Have already looked at it from outside, but tomorrow is the day where I get to relax into it's ivory leather interior ahead of a run to Bicester and back on Thursday. looking forward it is the understatement of the year. .......
  9. Drat! Apparently I had forgot to provide a couple proofs of I so will not be picking car up until Wednesdays. However, popped into Lexus Bristol to drop them in, and managed an external view of car, sat in the rear compound, just awaiting final once over.
  10. Due to collect new IS300h Luxury on Monday. This will be my first Lexus, and my first hybrid, and would like to gauge the reaction of other members to the neccesity to run the car in for the first 1,500 miles or so. With previous new cars, virtually all VW / Audi turbo diesel company cars, have never really bothered (not my car / money so who cares!), but as this will be paid for with my own company's money, I will be a little more careful as far as not not knackering the mechanicals in order to save a bit of time in the first few weeks. Thanks, and photos will follow.......
  11. Just advised by Lexus Bristol that my IS300H Luxury (complementary nav, celestial black plus full electric ivory leather) wil be ready on Monday. Will make a massive difference from the hired 1.7 diesel Astra I have been running around for the past 3 months......... The dealer has offered supagard, but based on multiple comments I have read, I will probably decline their offer (unless free, of course). This will be my first Lexus, so looking forward to the experience, especially decent seats (Astra's are absolutely abysmal.....can't wait for it to go), good stereo with Bluetooth (hopefully I get one which doesn't cause too many issues!). The coffee and biscuits at the dealer are good to!
  12. Just placed order for Luxury spec in celestial black with ivory leather seats with the complimentary nav. First experience with Lexus though demo car (admittedly in F Sport spec) impressed not only myself but the other half as well. Only two weeks to wait as exact spec sitting on the dockside at Portbury import centre. In fortunate position of being able to choose own company car, and promise of low tax (both personal and company) major selling points. Will provide feedback once arrives and get chance to put a few miles under the bonnet (about 30,000 per annum)
