  1. Will warning buzzer sound continuously or will it simply be a display item if non TPMS (standard) tyre valves are used ?
  2. Slightly complicated - tyres bought from private individual - afraid tyre fitters will punish me - haven't yet sought price - valves/ sensors cost giving me the shivers .
  3. Hi, 2012 GS 250 Luxury I've bought a used set of Lexus alloys ( 17x7,.5J) with only delivery mileage to use as spare set for winter usage for a couple of months/ k miles each year. What I had not taken into account was the cost of TPMS valves + sensors which require programming - frightening prospect on top of pricey rims and 225/50 R17 winter tyres ! Can I use standard valves and ignore the dash warning light each season until the original 18" "summer" wheels go back on ? More relevantly - in this scenario is there any accompanying warning buzzer? - I couldn't live with that ! Finally - I assume the summer wheels can go back without further adjustment of the TPMS system - or am I naive ? Or should I just abandon the project & resell my replacement wheels & tyres to cut my losses ? Advice/opinions greatly appreciated. Mike
  4. Hi all, Currently driving GS250 ph 4 shod with 235/45R18 summer tyres. Have purchased additional set of alloys 17x7.5J for winter use. Please advise optimum tyre size to suit
  5. Hi All, About to get 60k service at local indie. Schedule calls for Replacement of spark plugs, but received wisdom suggests this is not necessary, so as performance is fine, I' ll pass on that item. Question rdiff oil replacement - what's your advice on this? Thanks, Mike.
  6. Thanks to everyone for your input. Follow up query - Is it likely that mirrror mechanism could be repairable ?- (housing is entirely unscathed in incident) I Imagine it would be more costly to buy & fit new replacement assembly ?
  7. Hi, Can anyone please confirm whether or not this function on passenger side door mirrors can be adjusted in all planes by remote button on driver's side or is this function on nearside restricted to vertical adjustment( up/down) only. I was involved in a minor carpark shunt yesterday where an SUV manoeuvering out of a parking bay reversed broadside into me At the time, there was no obvious damage to the mirror, but I later discovered remote function operated solely on the vertical plane and horizontal adjustment is by coarse manual operation. I can't remember if this was always the case, and hand book is not entirely clear on the subject showing illustration of driver's side only. Thanks
  8. Hi All, I'm considering purchase of a set of new Toyota 18" 10 spoke alloys 18x7.5J 45AKJ52. Will these fit my car ( currently 18 x 8J ET 45 rims) and what size tyres should I use? Vendor seeking £240 and courier quote GB- NI is £100 - worthwhile in your opinion ? or should I look for identical 8J replacements - Target cost ? Many thanks , Mike
  9. Hi, My 2012 GS 250 with 54678 miles up is due its annual service . Can anyone please advise where I can find/download recommended Interim/Full Maintenance Schedules for this model. The car has been serviced throughout its life ( with exception of first two ) by an indie in the south of England from whom I purchased it last October. Although it has a fully stamped service book, I have no documentation to show exactly what work was done. The car presents immaculately and runs perfectly, so I intend to entrust servicing to local mechanic (none anywhere here with Lexus exposure outside of main dealer). I'm happy to have interim service and consider full (60k) next year as I've covered only3k this year and expect to do no more than 5K in the coming 12 months. Any advice/comments most welcome.
