  1. Well that's a shame to hear. I've always lightly cleaned the leather with a damp cloth only after brushing the perforated section with a soft shoe polishing brush to loosen up any dust, then applied a protective coat of autoglym once dry. Oh well, live and learn. Thanks for weighing in I 'll check the ingredients on the dodo juice
  2. Thank you so much Bill, I will look into it, a member from the Facebook Owners Group recomdended Buffalo repair kit but I don't seem to find much about it. I am also a fan of 303 products but I never added them to my leather. I shall start.
  3. 74k, I am a 10 stone curvy girl so it could be the fact that my weight distribution in bottom heavy LOL
  4. So weird right? I do think that it would have had to be the seal but cannot see anything obvious so we will have to keep an eye when it gets wet. No Cola spills, it's mainly me that drives it and very rarely carry passengers (no children). Thank you
  5. Battery ordered this morning, thank you so much for your help guys 🙂
  6. I gave my beauty her annual in and out super duper detailing like I've been doing every year on her birthday month. And I was beyond distressed to find a spot of rust on the front passenger entry. I know it is not such a big deal but I feel like I felt when my first wrinkles started to appear. Is this something I can diy do you guys think or would I be better taking it to someone? Also my leather seats are starting to show their age any products that you recommend to spruce them up a little? I have conditioned them regularly since the beginning with Auto Glym leather conditioner but I am now thinking maybe a UV protector would have been better?
  7. It's been over a week and zero problems after that one overnight charge. I am thinking come colder weather, the situation might change again and we will have to replace it, but for now I will stick with it as long as it still works.
  8. A steamer will help melt the sugar in seconds then a wipe with a dry cloth. Its worth investing in one, makes hard to reach places a doddle to clean without any chemicals and without much elbow grease.
  9. Thanks David, it started last year and so bang on 7 years LOL Also I am a bit sad as I stated that the mileage is 74 k but it is in fact 47 k.
  10. SUPERSTAR !! Thank you so much. We bought a trickle charger and we will see how that goes.
  11. Now next question is where do I find a like for like 12V battery. Off to do a search in the forums.
  12. Kind of you to weigh in thank you 🙂 and what excellent advice. Will get one and see how we go, pleased to hear positives that it's not more than that.
  13. Thank you for taking the time , we can have no problems for a few days then other days we would have to jump it each time we use it. Seems fine after a longer run for a few days then Bam won't start again. It's getting annoying now which prompted me to come and investigate. I am glad you think is the 12V battery.
  14. Hi everyone, We have a problem with the start button we think it could be related to the 12V battery ( We bought it in 2014 from new and has done 74k to date) . The car is not doing as much mileage as it used to and in lockdown we started getting problems with the start button. It got so bad that we now virtually have to start it almost daily with one of those thingies who's name escapes me right now. The other issue we have is that very randomly and at ungodly hours decides to start the theft alarm. ( I can only imagine to the utter delight of our neighbours in the cul de sac 🙄) There are no warning lights and the car runs as beautiful as the day we got it. What do you think would be our best course of action please? try and give the battery a good charge or maybe change it? Any thoughts on the weird alarm ?? Many thanks
  15. Hi there Oweyes, would you be able to give me the details of the company you used for this update please. I have a 2014 RX 450H and would love to do the update on it. Many thanks
  16. CONGRATS!!! It was an IS 200 sport that made us fell in love with this car manufacturer and I have never loved a car more in my life. The day we got rid of it was a sad day indeed, ours would have been 16 years old this year. I often wonder what happened to it.
  17. We started our Lexus journey with the IS 200 sport in the late 90's and it was the longest lexus we had. We them moved to an IS 220 D and honestly I couldn't wait to get rid of it, we followed it by an IS 250 and I was deep in love again so I have to agree with toffee pie petrol is the way with these cars.
  18. Thank you Romas we figured it out in the end, I have to say though that I find the website incredibly awkward to navigate.
  19. Sad I missed it our first lexus was the IS200 Sport so I was looking fwd to stroking a few for old times sake, so glad those that went had a fab time.
  20. Doh!, guess who forgot it was Father s Day today :( sorry we couldn't make it I hope you all had a great day. When s the next one?
  21. We know exactly where you mean so we should see you there :) thank you :)
  22. Can I have a few more details please? Would love to attend, not a member of the Facebook group yet Thank you
  23. Thank you for taking time to reply Jason :) it helped a lot :)
  24. Hello everyone, this is my first post so I hope I am posting this in the correct place/ format etc. We are saying goodbye to our beloved IS 250 and we are about to enter the RX world, however we are stuck deciding between the advance or the luxury spec. Anyone can explain to this girl who knows very little about cars what the main difference is or which one you would choose and why? Many thanks
