  1. Here's a shot of the new system, sorry the car's dirty but it was far too hot yesterday to wash a black car. The weather only cooled down late in the evening just in time for a downpour. And here's both exhaust tips. H & S have done an excellent job in making the new tips look just like the OEM ones and not a pair of aftermarket boy racer drain pipes. Will paint the rusty bracket that's now exposed to help it blend in. Don't want to completely remove it just in case it's ever needed again.
  2. Same set-up as the other guys. Cat back with the secondary cats kept. Ian from H & S did ask whether I wanted the secondary cats removed but said no. One small step at a time.
  3. Damn iPad auto-correction. In order to stop my fellow IS-F owners from too much chortling I've edited the post using a good old fashion Windows laptop. Great sound and the pipes look like they're OEM, much better than the fakes IMO.
  4. Just back from H and S in Basildon with my new exhaust fitted. To quote Chris from an earlier post "Holy Cow". However this doesn't do it justice unless the cow is a rodeo bull armed with a gatling gun whilst singing backing vocals for Motorhead ! The sound is amazing when accelerating however it does settle down when cruising on the motorway at a legal 70mph of course, very much NASCAR even under a gentle prod of the accelerator. It will be interesting to see whether it quietens down in the next week. I'll get some pictures posted once the car has been cleaned as a 3 hour journey on the M25 and M4 has taken its toll.
  5. Mine's booked in this Saturday so four up from next week. Can't wait to scare the neighbours as I leave for work very early each morning.
  6. Have a "duration of ownership" subscription for £274 from Tracker, seemed a good price as I intend to keep the car for a few years or at least until an RC-F is a good second hand buy. Currently pay £198 for my insurance from eSure, installation of Tracker and old age helps.
  7. No real problems to date, just a new set of rubber on each corner however I did have to buy a new cover for the towing hook as it mysteriously disappeared one day. Plastic part was cheap but cost nearly £50 to paint. Does anyone smack their head on the grab handle when negotiating tight left hand bends ? Seat's as low as I can get it but I still manage to smack it.
  8. Wow, that's a lot of cash. I've just about convinced the good lady that a trip to H & S in July is money well spent although it has cost me a theatre trip whilst I'm in the South. Will share the before and after pics after the joyful day.
  9. Nothing to be ashamed of Janet. I too owned a Morris Marina GT Coupe, traded it in for a Lancia Beta HPE at a small dealer in Kings Norton. Yours wasn't a bronze coupe with a vinyl roof by any chance ?
  10. Before going through my diesel period when I was covering 30k miles per year because of work, I've owned a few performance cars during my many years on the planet although some of them would be beaten by most modern cars ..... Triumph GT6, so low to the ground that I had to step up to the pavement when getting out.... Renault 5GT Turbo with BBR remap..... SAAB 9-3 Aero Convertible with Hirsch upgrade, fantastic in a straight line but had a tendency to torque steer into a hedge if I put my boot down...... Mazda RX8....... Lotus Elise 111R with stage 2 competition exhaust, very loud and fast but hard to get out of if you're not a gymnast. Thought it was time to mature so bought the IS-F after trading in my Merc C350 diesel, Superchipped of course. So far it's been the best 15 months driving.
  11. Cheers Chris. Will get around to posting some pics in the IS-F section once the car is cleaned and I've read the How To's
  12. Hi, Bought myself an IS-F in March 2013 from the guys at Lexus Woodford, only just got around to joining the LOC. Sorry guys and gals for the delay. The car had 10k on the clock and was in excellent condition as expected. Looks really nice in black with rear dark tinted windows especially when the cars's clean. Bit of a bu**er to keep clean though. This car is definitely a wolf in sheep's clothing, and a very rare sheep at that. Not seen another one in Witlshire just yet. No faults to report after 15 months, just 4 new tyres last month and a repair to the front passenger wheel arch when a garage door jumped out in front of me and caused quite a scratch. Booked myself a Father's Day present at Scott and Hayward in July, thanks for posting the blog and pictures Stuart. I'll let you know how I get on with the new exhaust but if it lives up to Mr Dunkie's description of "holy cow" then it will probably be the best Father's Day present ever, sorry kids you'll need to up your game next year.
