  1. Hi, Colin seems to have answered all but one of the questions regarding the rear screens getting in the way. I own a 2008 RX SE-L with obviously the 'new' rear screens and they cause me no provlems whatsoever. I have two children (3 & 8) who love them and don't cause any access or visibility issues. They only stick out a few inches and follow the contour of the rear of the seats. Hope that helps
  2. I was told similar when I had a recent service at an independent, who i have used for years. It was the front lower wishbones bushes and the parts were £460 and his computer was telling him that it was a big job, labour wise. He didn't believe the amount of hours needed so suggested i called Lexus to ask what they charge. I spoke to two separate dealers. One said it was a 4hr job (at £110 an hour) but seemed to be too busy to talk for too long!. The other said that he has worked for lexus for years and has never changed the front wishbones on an RX400. He immediately knew what I was talking about and said that the bushes 'were probably like that after about a year from new' and there was no need to replace the wishbone, it wouldn't fail an MOT and that there was no safety issue at all. He clearly seemed to know his stuff and knew exactly what I was talking about. It seemed that he had been asked this a number of times. I told my garage who were fine and suggested that Lexus dealers know their cars so leave it and see what happens at the MOT. Your advisories seem to suggest that although the bushes have deteriorated, there is no resulting problem? Which is basically what the Lexus dealer said. Hope that is of some help. Cheers
  3. When I said ACC position I actually meant the ON position and when I said ON position I meant the START position....doh!
  4. Hi, I have a 2008 RX400h and have owned it for about 4 months with no issues. It passed its MOT 5 days ago. Today when I went to move it after it had been standing for about 4 hours I turned the key to the ACC position and all the usual lights came on but when i turned to ON the Ready light did not illuminate and couldnt start it. I turned it off and tried again and it the ready light then came on and started. However I have tried it a few times since and if I leave the key in the ACC position briefly before going to the ON position the 'Check VSC System' light briefly comes on before going out and the Ready light coming on when the car will then start and run normally. However if I turn the key straight to the ON position without pausing at ACC there is no VSC warning and the ready light comes on straight away! The VSC warning literally just flashes on, beeps and then goes off again. Could the MOT testing have done anything that might have caused this? Any advice would be appreciated Thanks
