  1. Hi, new to this forum and hoping someone can give me some advice. Own a 06 IS220D approx 140K miles. Had the dreaded 'Check VSC' warning a few weeks ago and the car went into limp mode. Local indy garage diagnosed it as P2002 fault with DPF, he recommended trying to regen or clean the DPF but he couldn't do it himself. He recommended another garage so I took it there, they had had many DPF's cleaned but warned me they had never had one successfuly regen. So, as they predicted it wouldn't regen so the only option was to remove the filter and send it off to be cleaned. A week later it was back and running fine. I had mentioned to the garage that fuel economy was right down (approx 30mpg) and he said it was due to the DPF so it should be ok now. After a couple of weeks the economy was still low and one mroning the 'Check VSC' and limp mode came on again. After a bit of diagnosis they couldn't find anything wrong with the DPF but thought it might be 'exhaust pressure transducer' sensor. They said the part was approx £500+VAT from Lexus and as they weren't 100% sure it was the fault they were (rightly) reluctant to change it. Have taken it to another guy who specialises in diagnostics and he thinks the sensor is fine and the DPF is just knackered, have found a place on the web (http://www.cats2u.co.uk/Catalytic-Converters/LEXUS+IS220+2.2+Diesel+Diesel+Particulate+Filter) that sell them for approx £500 but this guy isn't sure if an after market DPF (assuming this is an after market one) is going to work. Has anyone successfully replaced their DPF with one from this company? Thanks Rob
