  1. Thanks for the replies and the info on these cars, i have decided that it will definitely only be a petrol as all of the problems all seem to be with the diesel and it will be good to have a petrol again but i will miss the kick in the back that my mondeo gives me and i have a couple of autos to look at this weekend so i'm hoping that i like the is250 but i'm sure i will
  2. That has helped a bit if I get a car with sat nav but so far the ones I have seen don't have sat nav so I would need a kit to work with a non sat nav unit, or if they are available I would like a fascia adaptor so that I can use my alpine single din headunit
  3. I am looking at getting an is soon but i want full ipod intergration with the existing stereo if poss, is there a kit that can be wired in so i can choose a song/album by using the stereo controls and also see the song/album displayed? if not is it possible to fit a single din alpine headunit that i have with an appropriate fascia adapter? Many thanks for all of your help
  4. Just from a few posts I have read I am seriously considering petrol only. I realise this might be a stupid thing to say but the only reason I am not keen on auto is on a previous mondeo I owned the gearbox totally failed (they were prone to it) but I realise that the lexus gearbox would be a better polished product rather than the rubbish Ford used on the mk2 mondeo so I will definitely loom at that. Thank you for all of your advice it has certainly been an eye opener. Now just need to find out about single din stereo and I'm sorted.
  5. Thanks for the advice. I will look at the petrol for sure. Although I didn't really want auto but cheaper road tax would sway my decision. Just need to look at fuel consumption over the manual.
  6. Hi normski2 I was looking at a 220d after having a diesel for the last 6 years even if the Lexus is less powerful and drinks a bit more than my Mondeo but I would consider a petrol as my annual mileage is usually less than 10,000 miles. Another decider will be whether I can get a ipod integration kit or if its possible to put my single din alpine in as well
  7. Good afternoon everyone :) My name is Neil and i am looking to get a Lexus Is at the weekend which will be a new experience for me as so far i have only had Fords plus i work for a Ford main dealer so that helps but this time i wanted something different and the Lexus ticked the right boxes so after having a Mondeo 2.2 st tdci for nearly 6 fault free years i think it's time for a change, and this seems like a nice friendly club so i thought i would join
