L-ski

So since picking up my IS on Saturday I've been slowly going over it and fixing a few little bits here and there. Today I managed to get the remote central locking working which I'm pretty chuffed about. When I got it the cars battery was dead so couldn't test the locking (needed a new one as it had been left flat for too long) and both keys had gaffa tape over the buttons so I presumed the button rubbers were gone. On Sunday I pulled the tape off and the buttons were perfect, but no red light on the key when you pressed them. I ordered 2 batteries and put them in today, both keys then had lights on but only the 3 button key worked. 1 door dance later and the 2 button was working again! I guess at some point it stopped working so the previous owner put the tape on to remind them to lock it with the key. So happy to get it working! Other than that all I've had to do is replace some bulbs, still need to do a front fog light bulb but hardly the end of the world. Not bad for a 15 year old car that's for sure! And it's here! Drove faultlessly, had 1 slight issue with the battery not charging properly due to being left flat for too long. 1 new battery later and it's all fixed. After a quick bucket of water and some scratch magic she doesn't look bad for an old girl! Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC

I think the brightness of them goes well with the dark paint, looks really good.

Saturday needs to hurry up! I really want to get to get cracking on it and after reading up on here I'm sure I'm going to have to order some parts to sort the spongy brake pedal. Still, not long to go! :)

Thanks guys. I've no doubt it will, my other car is less than practical for a daily drive. I have to take a 10 min detour going to and from work to avoid speed ramps, lol!

Newbie from Herts here. Just bought a 1999 IS200 as a second car for use over winter and as a possible daily drive - will see how it goes! Not my usual thing but it was in budget and looked pretty good when I went to see it, I will be picking it up next weekend. Over all its in pretty good nick with service history, has a few bits and pieces to do on it as to be expected with a car of that age but nothing I shouldn't be able to sort. :D Anyway, here it is in all its green glory!
