  1. Hi again, Seems like i am having all the 220d issues one by one. Update to my last message: airbag issue is solved easily. I get the stress in the knee airbag connector and be done with it (hopefully). Since 1 week I start having whitish smoke coming out (i mean a lot of smoke) off the exhaust time to time. Smoke usually comes out when i hit the pedal on 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears ehen the engine is warm enough. I have been getting premium diesel i think BP premium is making more smoke( not sure about it yet but its the first impression). After researching on internet i get suspicious of blocked DPF filters. Btw, i got the EGR valve replaced only 1 month ago. Tonight, i went to the motorway and drove the car for 40 mins above 35 revs on 3rd and 4th gears until no more smoke comes out. Went into the city there was still smoke coming on 2nd gear. I drove for another 20 mins on 2nd gear around 40 revs until no more smoke comes out. I ordered dpf filter cleaner as well and i will add it tomorrow. I said i am suspicious of dpf filter but would it be something else? Are there any other problems that i should face soon? (My windshield got cracked just above the defrost on dash on monday without any particular reason except some cold air) It starts to feel like someone is making bad joke to me. !!
  2. Thanks guys for the replies. I did not go to the dealer about the brake pads and discs issue since those parts are usually warn out in time. The calipers were little different but I get a deal from the dealer to get them all fixed at once. On the other hand, the airbag light is a problem for the MOT. If I can not get it fixed with the local electrician today, I am planning to speak with the dealer. I had a quick research on internet and seems the airbag light might be little harsher than just connecting the the connector. I hope it will be an easy job for my case.
  3. Just an update on the issue : Lexus did not accept to help with rear calipers with the `good will`. Unfortunately, I paid the amount and get them all changed by the service. I also got the EGR valve changed which did not help at all with the consumption. Yesterday morning I had another problem. The airbag light is on. Diagnostics show that the driver side knee airbag is the problematic one. We`ll find out what the real issue soon. I was expecting the Lexus to be a reliable car. apparently it is not. I am very unhappy with the problems I had in such a short time. I am not planning to buy a Lexus again.
  4. hello, I have recently bought an 2008 IS220d from a private dealer. It had 64k miles when i bought and currently having 70k miles. Last weekend i took the car to lexus dealer in coventry to have its service done and get a visual check. Service identified corrosion in discs, warn pads and seized calipers and suggested to replace them all. I have seen in the forum that many people have their seized calipers changed free of charge by lexus. The dealer never mentioned anything about free replacement to me. During the check, service also identified the EGR valve issue which need to be replaced as well. Does it covered by lexus? Currently have a bill around 1500£ by dealer and very unhappy about paying if they are known issues on the vehicle. Any suggestions?
