  1. When I clicked the button to import contacts from my iPhone it did not import all of them. Anyone have any advice / experience of this?
  2. Thank you Colin and Normski for the excellent information. I will press the button for the onboard update as I'm intrigued to see what happens. i.e. how could it update itself if it is not connected to the internet? I'll let you know. Considering all the input from various sources I think would feel safer biting the financial bullet and going the official Lexus dealer route. PS: My version is what came with the car in 2010 and yes Normski... yesterday it could not find a street my friends live in in a small village in Kent.
  3. Thanks. Reassured to know it took you 12 months John... it is rather daunting - particularly the Sat Nav. I love the way in the manual it describes how to put in an address... it says press this, this, this and then "there are 12 (13 in UK) ways to find your address." !!! Takes a lot of patience to read through it all.
  4. Thanks Giles - turns out it is remembering the settings but they are different for each medium - which is good ! i.e. it remembers one setting for CDs and a different one for radio However I am interested in what you said about different user settings - related to keys (?) Would like to find out about this but can't find anything in the manual under keys or users? Pete
  5. Likewise - I just bought a 2010 GS 450h SE-L with only 9k miles on the clock ! Yours looks incredibly good inside for cream leather with that much use. Very reassuring!
  6. I just bought a 2010 GS 450h SE-L. When I alter the sound settings for a CD (bass, treble etc) it doesn't seem to remember them. Or am I doing something wrong? thanks Pete
  7. I just bought a 2010 GS 450h SE-L. It has all the add-ons including Sat Nav with a hard drive. It says the Map version is version 1. Apparently there are now new Sat Nav updates each year. What is the cheapest and easiest way to update? I called Lexus and they quoted about £160. My car has a USB socket and the Lexus chap said I could download an update onto my USB stick from the Lexus website - but I can't find the right web page anywhere. Actually when I go into Map Version on the car it asks me if I want to update and says there will be a cost involved. And there is a button marked "I AGREE" ! If I click this button what will happen? The Lexus guy asked me if my car has WiFi - I have no idea - how do I find out? I have read the Sat Nav manual and there's no mention of it. many thanks for any help newbie member Pete
  8. Hi All, I just bought a 2010 GS 450h SE-L with only 9k miles on the clock. It is in fabulous condition and has all the gadgets a gadget fan could ever want and I'm just learning how to use them all. Tried getting to grips with the Sat Nav today which is very complicated. However I did manage to input some favourite addresses. I am completely blown away by the car in every way. The ride is perhaps a tad harder than I would wish but certainly not uncomfortable and I will try using a cushion! (This is probably because I am extra skinny due to cancer treatment.) I bought the car from Lookers in Preston who were extremely helpful in every way. They even arranged delivery to London and part exchanged my Toyota in London too. I have a couple of questions - probably the first of many - but I guess I'll post in an appropriate section on the forum. look forward to meeting you guys Pete
