  1. Yes, I will be throwing money at it until it's perfect. Off on a 120 mile round trip in it today. So comfortable.
  2. Hi all. I now own this car. I swapped it for a Mazda MX-5 I bought off the same guy for £900, so I'm not too unhappy. However, his advert was appaling. It has the first 17 Lexus services (all confirmed as genuine by Lexus), and 2 none Lexus. Last service was at 181k, by Kwik Fit. ONLY Cam belt change was at 117k by Lexus. No evidence of a service since 181k, so I took it to a Lexus specialist in Derby, who was one of the first 50 technicians to be trained up by the Japanese guys who came over at the launch of Lexus. Gave it a full service and look over and concluded the following: Cam Cover gaskets leaking (booked in next week) Front pads 85% worn (light on on dash. Seller said they had been changed but not plugged in!!! (booked in next week) Front of engine oil leak (will be investigated next week when cam belt is done) Exhaust Y Section blowing (booked in next week) NSR Wheel bearing play (booked in next week) Apart from all that, the guy said it was one of the best engines he's worked on in a while, and was very definitely worth spending the money on. Additionally, it ran like a pig on LPG, so I had it serviced today. It's now much better, but needs new injectors within the next couple of months or so. Also, It has a dent on the passenger door, and a piece of rear trim missing on the passenger side, so these will be next on my list once the mechanical side is sorted. As for the interior, aside from a small bit of wear on the drivers seat squab, and memory seat panel on door not working, it's perfect. The guy I bought it off is the biggest monumental toss pot on earth, and I have reported him to Trading Standards. It didn't have 2 keys either. Ultimately though, I sold my 2011 Audi A1 for this, and I made a very good move in my opinion. As for fuel economy, I have been having fun, so haven't manually checked, but if the onboard computer is correct, it's averaging 26mpg. Now the gas is fixed (ish), I will manually calculate over the next few weeks, but 50mpg Equivalent is a reasonable assumption is the dash is correct.
  3. Hello everyone. Not quite what I had in mind. I've always had new Diesel cars, mostly from Toyota. I always wanted an IS220d, but family meant a people carrier was the way. Following a recent separation, I sold my 2011 Audi A1, and replaced it with a 1998 LS400. It has 205k on the clock, and a full service history, all with Lexus bar the last 2, and it's LPG converted. I love it, and will never drive anything but Lexus ever again.
